Anacrusis Reunite for Concert 2019-08-24 by Trey STAFF | 15 Comments | St. Louis, Missouri-based Progressive thrash metal band, Anacrusis will take the stage for a special hometown show to celebrate the reissue of their entire catalog on Metal Blade Records later this year.
The December 7 concert at Delmar Hall will be a three-part performance featuring all original members from the band's 1986-1993 run. Come hear the music of Anacrusis performed by all three original recording lineups.
Part one will be performed by the original 1986-1990 lineup of Kevin Heidbreder, Kenn Nardi, John Emery and Michael Owen. It will feature songs from "Suffering Hour" and "Reason". Part two will be an all-"Manic Impressions" set with drummer Chad E Smith. Part three will highlight the band's final release, "Screams And Whispers", and will include drummer Paul Miles.

Would definitely go if it was even on the western part of the country....
| | | 😯😯😯😯 That's what heaven must be like...
| | | I hope someone will film this or portions of it, with a smartphone or a tablet and post it online.
| | | Hoping for a video too!
| | | Any chance of a new album in the future?

What was supposed to be their comeback album ended up being Kenn Nardi's solo album, because the rest of the band didn't have time to commit.

| | | Hi guys, Kenn here. I happened to see the thread and wanted to say that I am planning to video the entire gig with about 10 cams. We'll definitely do something with it.
I wish all the fans could make it, but that's obviously not feasible. We've got people (that I know of) coming from the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, Austria, Canada and all over the States, which is crazy to me.
It's gonna be a very, very special gig to celebrate the band and the reissue of all four of the old albums. We're going to do everything we can to make it a great and memorable show worthy of the effort our fans are putting into being there including a hang-out/fan meet-up the night before to make sure we get to spend some quality time with especially the people who are traveling in for the show.
We're not having an opening band since we will be doing almost 30 songs in 3 sets. The doors-to-showtime will just be a hang-out with a local DJ from the '80s & '90s St. Louis college station that we all used to listen to (and which played the local bands weekly) playing old-school metal and an homage to the local metal scene that spawned Anacrusis.
The stage setup and lights, etc will be different for all 3 sets and the gig will be like a travel through time with the band chronologically. We want to create a totally different atmosphere for each era of the band.
At this point, we are not planning any other shows and definitely not planning to do any new recordings together. I can't rule out ever playing a fest or show maybe overseas, but nothing like this special all-member St. Louis gig. I honestly never thought we'd ever play again, but this opportunity to do what we hope will be a fan's "dream-show" with all the guys felt right. We're working very hard learning the old songs again and rehearsing so we can bring 100% to the show.
| | | ^^Wish you guys all the best, excellent news!
| | | Man, I'm looking forward to that recording already

| | | I'll definitely be buying the video. I'm also getting a few of those vinyls (Manic and Screams) as well as replacing my lost 'Reason' CD.
