I remember Scott talking about this during the 10 year anniversary tour in the UK last year. Going by the two covers of The Modern Leper, it seems people have really put some effort into this. Excited to hear the other interpretations of one of my favourite albums of all time

The Modern Leper is one of the greatest songs ever written and contains the best lyrics I can think of.
"You should sit with me and we'll start again
And you can tell me all about what you did today
What you did today"
Completely wrecks me every time.

| |
Oh my god, Craig Finn doing Head Rolls Off feels like it's specifically for me
|
| |
Don't like either of the Modern Leper covers but it does feel disingenuous to critique them, it's not really the point of the release
|
| |
Yes I’m ready to be hurt again
On the real though this is beautiful and makes me very happy
|
| |
Fucking adore Julien's version.
We Were Promised Jetpacks does a Modern Leper cover too - on the 10th Anniversary edition of These Four Walls.
|
| |
man, I never got into this band but I'm so stoked to hear covers by Julien, Manchester Orchestra, Twilight Sad...and, strangely enough, Ben Gibbard
|
| |
keep yourself warm is one of my fave songs ever, and i think if any person could do it justice ben could
|
| |
Such an ace tune, one of my all-time faves too
|
| |
aaron dessner heck yeah
|
| |
Just thank you
|
| |
julien sounds amazing on Modern Leper, wow
|
| |
I need this right this second. Like now. Be on Spotify. Now.

Baker's take is great, not as on-board with Biffy, but could just suffer by comparison. Hyped for Finn, Wintersleep, Daughter, Twilight Sad, and Manchester Orchestra.
I also misread Piano Bar Fight as Pianos Become the Teeth at first, which might have just been wishful thinking, but oddly enough could've still fit.

Still crushed by every thought of FR, even a year later.
Will echo the thoughts of other's on Frank Turner's Modern Leper cover that it seems an injustice that he's not featured. Though going by this article posted today, sticking with the original covers recorded gives it more of an opportunity to be a celebration, not a mourning.

Also, to think of the grave power Floating in the Forth must have for his brother...

Manchester Orchestra just dropped theirs, very good shit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4KAcQJM4C8

Never been the biggest fan of MO but they did nail that
|
| |
have you heard their song with Frightened Rabbit from way back in the day, "Architect", anat? it honestly was my first taste of FR and still one of my faves
|
| |
Yeah it didn't do much for me when I first heard it, and relistening I'd say the same, don't think the two voices work together in the same song. But MO definitely got the cover spot on
|

This is so cool. And it looks like Oxford Collapse are getting back together to do one, so stoked.
