the vocals suck ass lol

Didn't know these guys were still around.
inb4: Strike posting Woodee's comment.

Well they reunited with a completely different lineup (save for Becerra), now as a five-piece because Becerra is paraplegic now and can't play bass in his wheelchair. That was way back in 2007, so it's still taken then 12 years since reuniting to write and record new material but it's cool.

Prob wont jam the rest of this let alone buy the album. But all power to Jeff and the rest of the band for contninuing on. Oh and btw fuck nuclear blast for turning any decent band into a NB product
|
| |
The vocals sound a bit like Lemmy
|
| |
Welcome back Jeff
|
| |
Is this a brand new possessed song? or did brand new possess a song? ...i'll show myself out.
|
| |
"Oh and btw fuck nuclear blast for turning any decent band into a NB product"
You gotta explain that to me

this actually rules
wish the production was a little more rotten but this rules
|
| |
big oof
|

The instruments are good, not a fan of the vocals. It kind of sounds like Lemmy trying to do thrash/death, and the lyrics are awful. I'll probably check out the rest of the album. Most importantly, I hope they tour.
|
| |
Better than any new wave death metal I've heard tbh
songs name is a little cheeseball but whatevs
|
| |
all in favor of banning the phrase "Brand new" from the headlines

Vocals aren't bad. I don't get that complaint because it's very old school heavy metal sounding.
This is definitely more thrash than death and certainly not heavier than Demolition Hammer so I'm waiting for DH to put out something that will crush this
|
| |
"This is definitely more thrash than death and certainly not heavier than "
that's bc it's possessed
|
| |
And here I was thinking that Possessed from Rhyme Asylum was FINALLY releasing the first track from his comeback album. This made me sad.
|
| |
riffs actually rule but gonna have to echo what everyone else is saying about those vocals :/
|
| |
vox r fine
|
| |
Not terrible by any means but they are distracting imo
|
| |
they're not very different at all from 7 churches.. at all. just an aged voice. style is still the same
|
| |
Not a massive fan of the vocals on Seven Churches either, but I think the greater separation on this makes them harder to ignore
|
| |
ah right. i definitely agree they would be better more innn the mix with the rest of the instruments. god damn modern metal gotta sound so clean and shit all the time
|
| |
The vocals do seem the most divisive. Consensus seems to be the instruments are great but nobody can agree if Becerra's vocals work or not. Some people love them, some hate them, but I think they're an acquired taste. I do think they've lost some of the grit and guttural sound that they used to have but I don't hate them. It's harder to growl in a sitting position, as you can't get in the right body shape like you can when you're standing.
|
| |
Damn, I thought that huge gap in between albums would slow them down but this stomped the shit out of me
