holy fuck yes oh my god.
edit: just listened and oh my god this is their best song since Crimson
|
| |
Someone get Onionbubs in here
|
| |
yessssssssssssssss
|
| |
Holy Jesus YES!!!! Just shit my pants !!! There Baccccckkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!
|
| |
HELL YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
|
| |
Sweet!
|
| |
sounds like heavens filtered through crimson which i can 100000% get behind it’s so fucking good
|
| |
im liking the song a lot, always sucks to see how age affects people though. matt sounds low-energy vocally but the melodies and overall aesthetic of the song are top notch for them. looking forward to the full release
|
| |
matt sounds fine tbh, plus california had plenty of higher matt vocal lines so i'm sure we'll see some show up on the album
tracklist of the album is fake goth as fuck meaning this is the best direction they could possibly go in after the past two albums without literally making every song a dan song
|
| |
Song is good, I’m hyped, thank God this band isn’t dead.
|
| |
im also so fucking glad that feldy didn't end up producing this, that was a huge fear i had going into the idea of a post california alkaline trio album
|
| |
Sooo after hearing this I really hope Skiba dumps blink-182 and does this full time.
|
| |
i'm just thrilled beyond belief that he's at least found a way to balance out both cos blink is recording right now, so i'm assuming matt was working on this while they were touring california?
doubt he'd want to quit blink considering how much more money he'd get from blink as opposed to this
|
| |
sounds like alk3 to me yea
|
| |
It's crazy to think Crimson came out 13 years ago.
|
| |
i discovered alk3 when agony & irony dropped so it's crazy for me to think it's been 10 years since then
thought they'd never put out another album. when did they even make this thing? pretty sure they haven't said a peep about writing or recording. i was just happy to see them continuing to play shows this year, but a new album was the last thing i expected.
song is pretty solid aye
|
| |
This is a very welcome surprise
Song is great
|
| |
Damn this is great. Better than just about everything from the last three albums. The hype is on!
|
| |
Wonder how many songs Dan will get on this one. I would probably guess 4, which would normally dissapoint me but if Matt's other songs live up to this then I can't complain
|
| |
been a while since the last dan album so perhaps he saved quite a few of them for this one
|
| |
Good point
|
| |
Haven't listened to these guys since Infirmary
pretty sweet track tho
|
| |
FUCK
YES
|
| |
OH BOY OH BOY!
|
| |
dan>matt but if matt really steals it up we may have the first consistent alkaline trio album in a while
|
| |
ok straight up this is their best lead single since crimson fucking m//
|
| |
(god)damn right bubs
|
| |
Wow this is actually a good song. I feel like it's the mid 2000s all over again.
|
| |
extremely wholesome thread and I love it
here's my guesses based on absolutely nothing about which song is gonna be whose, if I get them all right the band has to agree to make all future albums 50/50 songwriting split or something
Is This Thing Cursed? (Matt)
2 Blackbird (Matt)
3 Demon and Division (Dan)
4 Little Help (Matt)
5 I Can't Believe (Matt)
6 Sweet Vampire (definitely Matt)
7 Pale Blue Ribbon (Dan)
8 Goodbye Fire Island (Matt)
9 Stay (Dan)
10 Heart Attacks (Matt)
11 Worn So Thin (Matt)
12 Throw Me To The Lions (Dan, or maybe a sneaky duet like Back to Hell)
13 Krystalline (Matt)
|
| |
good guesses, great hype
|
| |
it is Dan's turn to end an album in the discog, but the K instead of a C makes me think it's almost definitely a Matt song. love to think we'd get more Dan than I have there but I doubt it... Worn So Thin does kinda sound like a Dan thing tho
|
| |
my guess was that krystalline would be dan cos as you said it’s his turn to close but yeah that guess looks about right, simply based on how matt some song titles are lol
i really hope derek gets some vocals here
|
| |
I'm guessing Dan takes tracks 3,5,9, and 12. So almost exactly what Rowan said
|
| |
3, 5, 9, 11 (maybe), 13 are my guesses
|
| |
I like it a lot. I could never get into these guys but this might be the album that lets me do it.
|
| |
Last AT album I jammed was from here to infirmary, but I'm digging this new song
|
| |
you've missed out on two incredible records then my friend
|
| |
enlighten me, brother
|
| |
I'm back and I'm erect.
Getting massive Good Mourning vibes from this.
|
| |
hell yea this about to be their best record since at the very least agony and irony
|
| |
so there's a big writeup on this album from the trio Facebook group, spoilers below if you don't want to know
Is This Thing Cursed? is a Dan song with Matt taking one verse, that's the first time Dan has ever opened an album and their first co-lead vocals since Love Love, Koss Kiss
Blackbird was a Dan instrumental which Matt added lyrics to
I Can't Believe and Demon and Divison are Matt songs, Little Help and Pale Blue Ribbon are Dan's
they did no pre production for the album, just went in the studio with a few scraps of demos and went with it. They say it's like a sister album to Maybe I'll Catch Fire because of the spontaneity and themes
|
| |
DANS OPENING AN ALBUM FUCK YEA
|
| |
Fuckin sweet. If Dan's opening the album then I'm fairly certain Matt's closing it
"like a sister album to Maybe I'll Catch Fire" whoa
|
| |
would bet my car Matt is closing this album yeah
forgot to add the coolest tidbit; Demon and Division is named after the place they practiced in the early days of the band (intersection of Damon and Division St, you couldn't get more Skiba if you tried) and apparently has some strong "San Fransisco" vibes to it
|
| |
Stop it dude I can only get so erect
|
| |
