Both parts rip. First feels like an update of the pre-Kentucky albums, the Windir tribute song especially is a nice surprise.
| |
oh boy, thanks for posting!
| |
eeeeek, can't wait to check this out!
| |
Fuck yes. Fuck yes. Fuck yes. Fuck yes. Fuck yes.
| |
Sick. Can't wait to check this.
| |
Can’t wait to get this in my belly
| |
oh yeah! now I just need enough spare time to listen to it...
| |
Yeah, this rules hard. Second half truly sets this apart from his previous works. Also m/ Mr. Lunn for the Valfar tribute
| |
Insanely good
| |
"15: echoes in the snow" that's familiar
| |
Gonna jam the fuck out of this when I get to work.
| |

the Windir tribute track (Blåtimen) is so cool
| |
Hmmm the description on the album’s bandcamp page says the album is intended to be listened to as a 2 hour single album experience. That ought to be interesting.
| |
yeah Snow Burdened Branches and Moss Beneath the Snow flow right into each other, the latter is a bit heavy despite being the first song on Part II
| |
Just when I thought that Mournful Congregation was AOTY this comes along and proves me wrong.
| |
OOooo I've been looking forward to this!
| |
Need to listen to this.
| |
A bit unbalanced, definitely not as good as his previous 2 albums. Latter half is a bit self congratulatory as well. I guess I don't have the gene for enjoying political country music.
Outside of Tom Morello: The Nightwatchman

havent had the time to listen to the whole thing but right off the bat i am absolutely loving it. the tones, the nature sounds, the atmosphere are all-time for me. im not that big into the genre but Austin certainly makes the most palatable sound to me in this scene
| |
So fuckin' hyped for this. One of the few remaining acts in the genre I look forward to every time. Austin's work is absolutely inspired.
| |
I feel like this guy just makes so much music, gotta listen to it!
| |
really love how his music is very orchestral but not cheesy -- takes his favorite small slices of home and makes them enormous, but w/o sacrificing the warmth and inherent charm of americana living
| |
From his Bandcamp page as well:
This is the full two disk, 2 hour long album sequenced as one long record, as it was meant to be heard. Please don't listen to the album on your laptop speakers, it will sound like shit. Give it a shot on a long hike or by a fire with headphones. The first half of the album is atmospheric metal, the second half is more americana focused, so beware if you hate country/folk.
cheers

ohhhh
| |
Yeah this is def AOTY for me so far.
| |
heyooo
| |
I've really liked all his albums but this is honestly pretty average to me on the first listen. I think maybe its because it's really just nothing new. Autumn eternal felt more refreshing. This seems kinda like a step back
