About time, I'll check this out later, but I am going to assume I love it and that I am excited for the album
| |
Sister Cities, huh? Maybe they will mention Plymouth Meeting or Conshohocken!
| |
Yusssssssssss
| |
Pretty good, these guys have aged well
| |
AOTY these guys are gods
| |
Hypiest hype.
| |
song rules
| |
pretty good. Not the best song they've ever written, but i'm still very hyped for this album.
| |
Not super hit by the song, never really got into the last album but Greatest Generation was a classic, hope this is good.
| |
A second song also leaked and it's probably better than this one.
| |
you can't say things like that and not link to the leak
| |
I don't listen to these guys nearly as much as I should. Solid track, as always.
| |
Such an awesome track I’m stoked!
| |
meh, was OK
Think this band has peaked
| |
Song rules.
Greatest Generation is my fav from them. This sounds like a return to form.
| |
Well that was awesome!! Band look healthy and on form, I’m excited for the album now
| |
Go away Wonder Years, you give the Tv show a bad name
| |
tv show sucked ass
| |
yeah it was cheesy as shit
| |
God I love this band
| |
Haven't even heard this yet I'm so hype!!!!!
I'm not the least bit ashamed to say The Wonder Years are my favorite band. They were what got me deeper and into more music.
| |
Really excited for this one
| |
Damn good song. Loved their last album a lot so I am excite for this.
| |
First listen.
They still got it! Back to the more energetic sound pre-NCTH. Also the production seems much better than before.
| |
You best believe I'm buying that CD + Shirt combo preorder for $30.
| |
this actually has potential to be aoty
| |
It's already AOTY for me just based on principle alone.
I mean, I fucking love Jeff Rosenstock with all my heart, but The Wonder Years are THE band for me. The first time I heard The Greatest Generation was a beautiful experience.
Dibs on non-staff or contrib review.
| |
fingers crossed that this is better than no closer to heaven
| |
NCTH wasn't even bad, it was really good (Cardinals is one of the best songs in their whole discography). It just had the misfortune of following up TGG and Suburbia.
| |
that shirt is actually pretty nice, these guys got some good merch
| |
bought my ex a wonder years sweater that was so tight a couple tears back, wish I woulda kept that
| |
lol I remember when every one hyped the last album up. Not expecting much from this.
| |
ok sexualmanchocolate appreciate the input
| |
didn't hit me as hard as cardinals did back then but still excited for this
| |
This flows hard
| |
Cardinals is a great song, the rest of the album just did nothing for me This sounds very promising.
| |
was p ok
| |
shoutout to the cameo of the weather channel’s own mike seidel!
| |
Guitar tone is juicyyy. This sounds a lot less depressing than their last album.
| |
this kind of sound is new for them and i dig it. liking the less depressing tone too. super looking forward to the album. video had me up in my feelings
| |
The Greatest Gen was easily their most depressing. It was also their best.
| |
Not sure how I feel about this. Mixing is better than their last one at least, so that's a start. Doubt it'll reach the heights of the previous three but...still stoked
| |
I could never doubt these guys
| |
Not too bad of a track, but not really my cup of tea anymore. I really dug Suburbia when I was into pop-punk a half a dozen years ago.
The song structure sounds super familiar to me, but I can't put my finger on it.
| |
Cool song cool video
| |
IAMERROR
its cause it is familiar, especially with the "start the last chorus quietly before bringing everything back halfway through" pop-punk trope
| |
Never liked these guys, but this song is kinda good.
| |
Wow.. that did not diapoint
| |
i've moved on from loving this genre as much as i used to but this is probably the one band that will stick with me, especially if they keep producing quality tracks like this one
| |
gonna need this one to sink in cuz straight up it sounds like a foo fighters song or some other radio rock bullshit
| |
Fuck Yeah :D
| |
sounds like the production is fixed from the last album which is good
| |
Congrats on writing the second best song called Sister Cities.
| |
What do you mean this song isn't depressing? Look at that maid cleaning up everybody's shit.
| |
The more I listen the more I like it :D
How consistent can a fucking POP PUNK band be?
| |
sempiturtle
I think you've pretty much got it spot on.
It's a little too formulaic for me. I'm a sucker for a thick bass tone, plucky guitars, and fast punk drums so the song triggers the part of my brain that like this kind of stuff.
As a unique form of artistic expression though it falls short in providing me with an experience I have yet to have though. Not that I expect pop-punk to really push any boundaries at this day and age. I think there will be a new generation of people who need this kind of stuff in their life.
I've still got old Thrice and Rufio to listen to when I want this experience.
| |
I keep trying to get into this band because they seem right up my alley and always pop up as a recommendation but they haven't clicked yet for me.
Someone want to recommend a song or two that should hook me?
| |
xfearbefore. check out "Hoodie Weather". or just the entirety of their Suburbia album. I'm not a huge TWY fan but I do enjoy that song and album
| |
have always found these guys to be widely overated tbh
| |
imo the best TWY songs for noobs are
Cardinals
The Devil in My Bloodstream
Came Out Swinging
Hoodie Weather as previously recommended
| |
check I Just Want to Sell Out My Funeral it's their best
| |
I Just Want To Sell Out My Funeral is easily their best song ever.
| |
You appreciate funeral much more though after listening to the greatest generation tho
| |
true true, just jam that whole album tbh not a bad moment on there
| |
Yup. And I disagree Sin. Madelyn was pretty fucking shit. Other than that... Flawless album.
| |
lol wtf madelyn is awesome you retarded bro?
| |
Jeff Rosenstock knows how to throw random acoustic songs into the middle of his albums; TWY are not as good at it.
| |
there there, cardinals and the 4th track on no closer to heaven are the only songs by this band ive ever really got into... but i absolutely love those songs.
| |
No love for Cigarettes and Saints even tho that's easily top 5 TWY.
| |
"sounds like the production is fixed from the last album which is good"
yup, shame it's apparently come at the expense of writing a good song but what are ya gonna do
| |
no love for passing through a screen door or bastards, vultures, wolves itt
| |
bastards is my second fave tbh
| |
Madelyn just doesn't fit the album :c
Passing is awesome, one of my favs
| |
oh so the bass player from foxing directed this video
| |
Pretty good song. Album will probably be great.
| |
"Madelyn just doesn't fit the album :c"
who the fuck gave you the right to live
| |
Lol that song is booty idec
| |
song sucks balls. Just give up on this band
| |
yea if you don't like that song you don't get an opinion anymore
| |
If you're going to conform to this pseudo consensus that this band is still good then you should shut up by sucking a big one.
| |
bitch.
| |
5.0 the wonder years the greatest generation
| |
well duh. Did you not hear me when I said "still."
| |
Or do you have trouble grasping the English language?
| |
And the fact that you went straight to my ratings to dig up something shows how much of a loser you are lol
| |
'If you're going to conform to this pseudo consensus that this band is still good then you should shut up by sucking a big one.'
This is one of the worst sentences I've ever read
| |
Says the dude with a terrible name. two n's and an h. I would kill myself.
| |
What's so special about this track? The lead guitar pitched from The Offspring(The Kids aren't alright). The gritty bass. Soupy opening the song with a whisper then unleashing to his scream singing. Didn't see that coming.
| |
There's 3 N's in it
| |
I hate alts
| |
Not an alt. Perfectly comfortable talking shit to you on my main.
| |
where do you live I'll come run the fade
| |
Yeah, cause you can't defend your opinion on this mediocre song.
| |
I don't care about my opinion I want to kick you
| |
Thread turned to shit wow. Song rules hard, looking forward to the album.
| |
Most overrated band on Sputnik
| |
Wonder Years are fucking fantastic though.
I'm stoked to hear there is a new lp! Will definitely check when it comes out.
| |
"Most overrated band on Sputnik "
you say that, but people have unironically 5'd Enter Shikari
| |
paramory riffy
| |
the offspring the kids arent alright riffy
| |
because a band and a song own those notes
| |
Niggas riffy uh
| |
BLICKY GOT THE RIFFYS UH
| |
Guy looks like a bowl of fruity pebbles
| |
Yo... This song sounds like it could have been on a full fleshed out album of Brand New's I am a Nightmare and Mene. I think this song is a notch above those two, but seriously they could have been on the same release and fit together.
| |
not as good as cigs and saints but they probably wont top that song tbh. still decent
| |
damn the vid made me wanna die. par for the course with them tbh
| |
they already did it's called i just want to sell out my funeral and came out before it
| |
two eech his own buddy :^)
| |
I just wanna sell out my funeral is best song all time
| |
nah
| |
Guitar tone, melody whatever you want to call it is makes this song unbearable. Annoyingly unlistenable
| |
