While I'd never outright call myself a fan, the first few moody blues records are great listens and I highly recommend them. Hefty loss right here

Definitely check 'em out MayhemWithMercy. Underrated group.

My mom was a fan and I remember her playing some of their albums growing up. Everybody knows "Nights in White Satin" but they had so many other great tunes. "Tuesday Afternoon" is a favorite. In fact that whole Days of Future Passed album is fan-fuckin-tastic.

Apparently they were going to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year too. Damn shame he's not going to be there for that.

RIP. Sad because the band seemed pretty happy to be inducted.

Gonna jam Nights and cry on the flute solo.

I saw this in the news yesterday. Glad at least that Thomas knew The Moodies were being inducted, even if he didn't make it to the ceremony. R.I.P.

Ray was an underappreciated flutist, he gave the Moodies a whole new dimension that helped to shape prog-rock - especially on their first few albums. It's terrible he won't be able to attend the R&R HoF ceremony.

I knew that, since it happened, but strangely I forgot to put here my homage.

"Ray was an underappreciated flutist, he gave the Moodies a whole new dimension that helped to shape prog-rock - especially on their first few albums."

I completely agree. Another great prog legend died. Prog is poorer since that day.

R.I.P., hard. We'll never forget you Ray.
