Looks like they're basically back to how they were before their last album. Good stuff.

| |
Never heard of this group before. Singer has a nice voice.
| |
"Looks like they're basically back to how they were before their last album. "
except all the good stuff
the hooks are nonexistent on these singles and the rest is all recycled
| |
I mean yeah this won't be as good as The Other Side but I'm still expecting that most of the songs will be up to par. The biggest draw of this band for me is Jenna's openness and honesty tbh.
| |
All their newer songs sound like they trying to be on the spiderman soundtrack again.
| |
They absolutely back but this song is just fine .
| |
looking forward to this album these songs have been so much better than the last album's, glad they realized their miss step
| |
feel like this album is gunna be a grower, cause this track gets better after a few listens
| |
except all the good stuff the hooks are nonexistent on these singles and the rest is all recycled
who cares about hooks if the lyrics are lovely and the song is catchy? I never got why it's mandatory for a pop track to have a hook and I don't get how this is recycled in any way. I can't even pin point a moment where a riff sounds similar to a previous song.
| |
This is probably my favorite song they've ever done. I can tell i'm gonna love the shit out of this album
| |
This is actually pretty rad, and so much better than anything off of their previous album.

agreed hard I love this single
| |
Why are australians so hot?
| |
Idk but Hands Like Houses' vocalist is a fuckin stunner isn't he.
| |
ech
| |
Why are australians so hot?
lol don't say that around Papa Universe it will go straight to his head
| |
Hands Like Houses, In Hearts Wake, Tonight Alive, Parkway Drive, seriously what sort of hot hormone did Australians inject into themselves.
| |
Don't forget Northlane boi
| |
what did you think of this single steak? do you like tonight alive?
| |
Oh yeah Northlane took the hot hormone too
| |
Single was decent, not something I'd want to listen to regularly tho. I remember liking their earlier work a little more
| |
Tbh I like this more than their earlier work, Jenna's REALLY shining as a vocalist.
| |
The Other Side is my favorite and really? that surprises me cause I know you dig paramore, they are basically the more metal oriented version of Paramore. You should really give their stuff a good listen.
| |
Her vocals here are definitely at their best agreed.
| |
Yeah I need to relisten to their first two albums. Their third album blows but I guess every band has to have a pop phase now.
| |
that was actually sort of forced on them by their label which comes as no surprise really
| |
but yeah first two are awesome I highly recommend
| |
tfw when your first ep is the high point oif your career this blows as has everything theyve done since their first album
| |
Do you really not dig their albums Sin?
| |
not even remotely, although their EP is great her vocals are so nasally on that EP and here they sound wayyyy more refined and mastered plus there's way more depth and variety on their more recent stuff (aside from limitless which I agree was a very low point) That EP is pretty much just a Paramore ripoff that sticks to a really straightforward pop punk sound. Here Jenna proves she has even more range than Hayley.
| |
'That EP is pretty much just a Paramore ripoff'
which is precisely why it's the best thing they've done
the two ep's and first album are all you need from this band
| |
How did you not like "The Other Side" Sin? That album rules too.
| |
The Other Side is without a doubt their high point. That album comes straight from Jenna's soul. One of my top 10 favorite albums ever since its release.
| |
it's fucking bland as shit, literally no good hooks whatsoever, like three good songs total on that thing
| |
Zombie I dig Hayley's voice a lot more than hers to be fair, but I'll give them another shot
| |
Wasting Away (their first single) is literally a Paramore song in disguise lol
| |
Once again hooks don't mean shit if the lyrics are garbage and the lyrics were excellent on the other side. Who needs hooks when you have heartfelt lyrics and several catchy moments. It's pointless to argue with people who listen to a pop record for hooks alone. Like fuck... its nowhere near being bland, the band obviously wasn't going for having another typical pop punk record, its deeply personal and that's reflected in its lyricism and Jenna's delivery. It's a grower album that I assume you listened to once and lost interest cause it started off as a 3.5 for me and grew to be a 4.5 after fully divulging the lyrics and messages behind the songs. The fact that it's not just another expected sounding pop punk record is literally the entire appeal for me but to each their own I guess.
| |
its also their best song though
lmao when ur a bog-standard pop punk band hooks mean everything and lyrics dont count for shit - no one listens to pop punk for lyrics - the album ended up being boring as hell and i must have heard at least five times all the way through, i was super disappointed when it came out, literally the only songs i really like on there are The Ocean and Complexes
| |
agree to disagree buddy but at least you dig The Ocean and Complexes they are easily top tier from that album
| |
good pop on songs
| |
