C'mon asdf bro, I feel like you're really falling into an intolerance I never expected from you

I can totally understand why someone wouldn't like Zappa's music since it is pretty weird and even "ridiculous" at times, but going as far as saying pretty much all of his music is utter shit is a big exaggeration imo. It feels like a generalization since the only way to say something like that is by listening to all of the Zappa/Mothers albums since in most cases, each of those albums has a distintive sound because Zappa was always changing his style.

Second, I don't see how "Zappa never being that big" is really an argument m8. Even if he didn't sell millions and millions of records that doesn't mean a thing (by that argument Justin Bieber is the best thing ever) and even if he didn't sell a lot, I've never seen anyone (wether it is the musical media or someone with at least a basic knowledge of rock) saying he wasn't big. One thing is not liking his music, but I've never seen anyone denying how important his work was for the development of music. Many important musicians have cited him as a major influence and he is recognized everywhere as a cornerstone for modern music as his creativity really added a lot of new sounds and ideas for music in general.

That being said, I love u all guys, so stop fighting like kids

a) it's just aggressive banter, i genuinely don't like his music and i think it sucks but i'm just bustin ur nuts when being so blunt about it. it's just typical for the site, one would think it wouldn't be so controversial at this point since everyone does it here like once a week

b) his music is definitely not bad because he doesn't sell enough, but his widow's reaction to copyright infringement doesn't make fucking sense considering there isn't that much to be gained. he might have been moderately popular but he isn't exactly taylor swift. not even metallica were so anal about it back in the napster days, which seems crazy to me (like, actually crazy).
