Enjoyable
| |
yikes.
| |
Well it's definitely different, I'll give it that
| |
pretty conventional for that style of pop rock -- kinda bite-less. the 'rock bottom' part was dumb.
| |
Well it's definetely ting tings. I'll give it that
| |
Had no idea Zak is back playing the drums, his solo stuff is pretty good. Song is decent.
| |
sweet that zac farro is back, he was def the second best part of this band way back when
| |
well...I liked the video effects
| |
Can 80s nostalgia please end now? It's done nothing but make things worse
| |
yea it's very cyndi lauper
| |
fun song with no substance
| |
Well, it's better than the pop songs on Paramore. Kinda fun, wouldn't mind hearing this on the radio.
| |
it's catchy, but after 5 listens it will probably wear off.
| |
Cool song.
| |
The video is nice and artistic. It's good for graphic designers :D
| |
3-3.5 just cause I like Hayley's vocals a lot.
| |
don't like the outfit hayley's wearing, the aesthetics of the video are professional but pretty mundane for the 2010s
| |
Okay these article titles are so overused now its practically a meme
| |
I feel like this is a pretty cool homage to 80s songwriting and those aesthetics. Like Madness or Crowded House. Just a really cool and well written song. Also getting a little Talking Heads in the verses.
| |
i'm not buying hayley in this song. she's not chill enough to pull off this style. her vocals in the bridge could be in any other paramore song. it feels like she can't break out of her usual songwriting. all in all it makes her sound fake. instrumentation is amazing though. can't believe i'd call hayley the weak link one day
| |
yeah it feels forced, idk
| |
Bad
| |
so this is not pop punk? fuck this then
| |
prob another tegan and sara album
| |
Glad to see Zac Farro back on drums.
| |
tegan and sara are better than this
| |
boring
| |
so that's it then. we're never gonna hear another 'Monster.' just more and more costumes. yuck what a waste of Zac
| |
Zac and Hayley can utilize their talents better than this. Song is good, but their core style is more suited to their sound as well as their skillsets.
| |
It sounds like a bad duran duran worship, and even duran duran is shit to start with
| |
^i got the same vibe too lol
| |
pop more like poop amirite guys
| |
poop pop, kinda
| |
bad song
| |
It's good to see Zac back
This is growing on me
| |
reminds me of Misterwives
| |
another band bites the dust
| |
"reminds me of Misterwives"
this is a good thing
| |
song is okay but i cant tell why its not clicking with me entirely yet
instrumentals are upbeat and never get too repetitive, hayleys voice is as great as ever, but i still dont get why its not clicking
| |
not bad
| |
the 'rock bottom' part was dumb.[2]
Other than that it's fine. Pretty ok actually.
| |
"Can 80s nostalgia please end now? It's done nothing but make things worse" [2]
This song is just annoying from start to finish
| |
5/5 as always
| |
drums were the best part of the song believe it or not.
| |
I really hate that rock bottom part
| |
It's time to stop.
| |
It's time to stop.
| |
Was hoping for it to go in a more post punk direction. Tho this is some 80s aesthetic stuff.
| |
decent, agreed with everyone that the rock bottom part is indeed dumb
| |
I think this is kind of cute actually
| |
better than last album. not a high bar to clear
| |
Ugh
| |
I like it, solid 3.5. Interested to hear the album now
| |
Video overlays were cool I guess
| |
As much as I love Paramore, this isn't too great. Definitely better than "Grow Up" and such, but those choruses are shite. Outro and Blondie influence is fun tho
| |
Wasn't really feeling it initially, but it's grown on me a little. It's catchy, but I can see it kind of wearing off eventually with a lot of overplay. Still hopeful that the album will be enjoyable.
| |
What's with this site's vendetta against new Paramore that no other music site seems to have?
| |
damn, had no idea Zac was back in the band.
| |
This is way better than anything on their last album tbh.
| |
it's better than the singles, but "part ii" is better
| |
ok fuck this song
| |
"What's with this site's vendetta against new Paramore"
it sucks
| |
Imagine if Aaron Gillespie actually stayed in the band, still though it's nice to see Zak back.
Song is catchy, but can't say I enjoy it that much
| |
Oh I really like this!
| |
Aaron Gillespie had more talent than the entire rest of the band combined so, probably not
| |
This will probably be my favorite Paramore album tbh
| |
this is aight
| |
hayley has helped me through some hard times, if you know what i mean
| |
if you don't, i probably covered my copy of Riot with jizz when i was 13
| |
that's gross
| |
Wow disappointed.
| |
What a fucking joke
| |
Lol only on Sputnik would people prefer their annoying pop punk 2000s shit
| |
why is your taste in music so awful
who hurt u
| |
Speak for yourself buddy ;)
| |
it must be jarring seeing them live and hearing songs like this and "aint it fun" next to rippers like "careful" and "ignorance"
That being said the song is actually pretty good...but the 'rock bottom' part was dumb.[3]
| |
This song is great.
| |
Jesus Christ.............. I use to dig this band?
| |
"Lol only on Sputnik would people prefer their annoying pop punk 2000s shit"
is this a joke
| |
Can we go back to being a rock band now please.
| |
80s pop revival is awesome, but this sounds too forced. :/ kinda fun tho.
| |
This is good/really fun but that rock bottom part is cringey as hell. Just knowing that it exists in the song makes it less enjoyable of a listen
| |
Paramore has never really been good. I sense another 1 with this album.
| |
u don't deserve that username
| |
this is pretty good i really dunno what youre all on about
| |
God this site is so fucking pretentious.
This is PARAMORE we're talking about, not fucking Tool or Radiohead or Deftones. The hell did you all expect? They've emphasized the POP side of their pop/rock for most of their career. Remember That's What You Get? Both poppier and cheesier than this new song -- and it was recorded 10 years ago.
So let's please stop it with the ridiculous expectations, just makes you look all the more foolish for ever attaching any kind of deep significance to this band's sound in the first place.
| |
nah, their older music is definitely different
their older music is better and isn't 80s pop rock worship to the point of being kinda cringy
paramore on average is better than tool tbh
| |
oh wait you're 14
| |
it is good but they should re name the band it is more pop their used to be a some punk and hard hits on drumming
| |
This is super fun, I just wish that rock bottom part got scrapped. Don't know what the hell they were thinking about with that
| |
the duran duran comparison seems the most accurate, but in a good way. this is really fun even if the rock bottom part as others have said is dumb.
| |
Ohh, get over yourself scorpion. If you are going to throw the word pretentious around, go to any Kendrick Lamar news article or DAMN! review and read people's comments that just ooze all over him.
| |
"This is super fun, I just wish that rock bottom part got scrapped. Don't know what the hell they were thinking about with that"
Honestly, Pararmore is at the point of their careers where they can release whatever the hell they want, and it will get a ton of plays on spotify and a lot of buys on itunes.
| |
Yea that's true Shaq, I'm just glad that I liked something that this band put out for the first time in like 6 years haha
| |
Maybe this will give me a better perspective on this song, what did you like about it, Steak?
| |
maybe.... you could hit a better free throw with the basket ball LOL
Hasan
| |
Paraless
| |
I really liked the guitar line, it was pretty infectious. The chorus was also pretty damn catchy, I honestly dig the 80s vibe that it gives off, and Hayley's voice is always a highlight to me. The best thing about it tho was the drum work; Zac really knows how to play some tasteful drums. It just really clicked with me
| |
hayley's voice is usually a highlight for me too but not when she's faking it
| |
drums were great, simple as they might be
| |
Ew that post chorus rock bottom shit. I want to like this but can't.
| |
she trying real hard to be debbie harry in that vid
even debbie harry can't do debbie harry anymore
| |
Brand New Eyes>Paramore>Riot!>All We Know Is Falling
| |
If we're gonna get down to it
| |
Riot and All We Know Is Falling are my one and two, I love those albums. The rest of their discography has not been my cup of tea
| |
Brand New Eyes>Paramore>Riot!>All We Know Is Falling
[2]
But Singles Club might just be better than any of their albums.
| |
Singles Club was very good agreed, but I don't think it's better than Riot, no sir
| |
@Asdfp277 "Paramore on average is better than Tool"
lol
As for the rest, yeah obviously Paramore's older music is different. That's not my point. My point is that #1 they've always leaned pop, and #2 their old stuff isn't "better" just because there was less synth and more distorted guitar. That's just a simplistic, narrow-minded, dumb opinion. Get over yourself and the whole "they don't sound exactly like they used to" shtick. It's the mark of a lazy and naive music listener.
Oh, and maybe check the "Joined" date on my profile before you do the whole age insult thing. As if this site needs more of that.
| |
This song has by far the best groove of their entire discography.
| |
you seem really butthurt about something
| |
I'm butthurt about other people being butthurt lol
Can we not just enjoy a catchy, well-composed pop song?
| |
No, you're not allowed to like things
| |
Oh I forgot, that's rule #1 of Sputnik isn't it? With the exception of Brand New, obv
| |
I still have never listened to The Devil And God tbh, don't plan on listening to it either
| |
Paramore's older music sucks
| |
it's a pretty 'basic bitch' pop rock song. aimed well at its target demographic
| |
"their old stuff isn't "better" just because there was less synth and more distorted guitar"
that's not the reason, but it's infinitely better
"Oh, and maybe check the 'Joined' date on my profile before you do the whole age insult thing. As if this site needs more of that"
somehow that makes it worse
| |
It's really not
| |
This is not good. Album cover is bad too.
| |
"Can we not just enjoy a catchy, well-composed pop song?"
point me to one, cus this one ain't it.
| |
This is really good, band never disappoints. Glad to see Zac is back.
| |
feels like a bad take on the newest Neon Trees album
ehhhhh
| |
"Can we not just enjoy a catchy, well-composed pop song?"
Lol. Well-composed.
| |
well i'll be damned
| |
I feel bad for liking this song because it means I associate with all the morons ITT
| |
song is fun tbh
| |
I think The 1975 should sue
| |
her voice does not fit the style at all. also it's just really boring. a bad 80s song for sure
| |
She sounds great
| |
she sounds poop
| |
she sings great, but her voice doesn't feel as good on this kind of music as it did with the first three albums
to elaborate further, i think her voice just isn't suited for vapid, 'mindless fun' music. most pop musicians can, but she just sounds out of place, her voice is too 'grounded' for that stuff
| |
^great explanation asdfp, i agree that her vocals don't fit too well
| |
I like this
| |
asdfp is right. her voice is especially out of place in the verses. Her voice and the instruments just don't match up well.
| |
asdfp is right. her voice is especially out of place in the verses. Her voice and the instruments just don't match up well.
| |
hate to compare again to the old paramore, but her voice sounds perfect for songs like "that's what you get", "misguided ghosts" and the like, like it's too 'mature' for this kind of music; avril lavigne is one example of voice that fits well this style, as well as shakira when she wants to.
her timbre is too dramatic idk, it lacks histrionism. perhaps a more nasal tone, or just sound a tad more 'screechy'
| |
I like this too Sounds
| |
Like usual, if it didn't sound so robotic I'd probably like it.
| |
right on asdfp, and this is the awkward result of an entire unnecessary genre shift
| |
wow fascinating
| |
S/T
gap
this
gap
everything else
| |
bne will forever be their best album
| |
am i b&?
edit: cool.
| |
Josh Farro still masturbates over her, guaranteed. He seems like that repressed, overly romantic Christian type who would do just that. I bet he wanted to rejoin too, but was wracked with guilt over the fact he cant stop fumbling over her late at night. He can't face her in person and his wife suspects something.
| |
^lol
| |
This is super fun. Excited for the album.
| |
