Damn, I'd go just to see Thrice. Might have to hit this one up. I'll have to see how the funds look... and how much tickets are.

Depends how much the tickets are but i would travel an hour and a half to see each of these bands because all of them are somewhere in my top 20 of all times (deftones in top 3)

Tampa'll be packed I bet.

Eh, I'm really trying to save up some money, which I've been very bad at. I already bought tickets to see Coheed and the Dear Hunter, that might be all on the concert slate for awhile.

“Every once in a while you get to share the stage with a band so powerful they make you work harder. After conspiring for years, we’re excited to finally share the road with such an epic band. We can’t wait to put Deftones and Rise Against fans under the same roof in 2017,” said Rise Against in a statement.

I'd be down with new RA material. Thought the black market was pretty good, or if anything better than endgame and appeal

"Inconvenient timing but we'll see.

And how is Thrice opening for Rise Against?"

Rise Against is unfortunately more popular than Thrice. Whoever marketed them did a great job marketing Rise Against towards angsty teenagers, thats for sure.

"Thrice deserves better than opening for Rise Against."

I dont understand what so bad about this? They are touring with two big bands(which means big bucks) and they are branching out towards a whole new group of people. This is a great opportunity for Thrice.

"This is the most rise against backlash I've ever seen on the site wow"

It doesn't shock me, Rise Against isn't really good.

^ While it is certainly a good opportunity for Thrice to grow their fanbase, Rise Against isn't even close to the same tier of quality as Deftones and Thrice.

Storm In A Teacup

ten years ago Rise Against was on their level quality wise, but Rise Against has reached a higher peak of success at one singular point than Deftones and Thrice, possibly on multiple occasions too.

Storm In A Teacup

the order makes sense. Deftones is the most active and they've been around the longest

Satellite

yeah thrice's popularity on this site isn't really representative of how popular they are irl.

rise against has been a bigger draw since at least 2006 and i'm saying that as someone who has seen both bands 10+ times since then.

I'd go as far as to say Deftones and Rise Against have both been mainstream household band names while Thrice didn't get close.

probably true. i've never caught deftones live. might change that if i happen to be home for the 6/10 show.

Deftones are great live. I've also noticed them digging into some deep cuts in recent shows, even non-single stuff from Saturday Night Wrist, so seeing them for this tour should be a real treat.

This is an incredible line up. I've seen RA once, it was a great show! Seen Deftones twice, both incredible (first time was right after Diamond Eyes came out, that was an insane show).

Also, this isn't even the first time Thrice has opened for RA. I'm stoked they're on this tour--all the times I've missed them, this is my chance. I just wish it weren't at the the amphitheater in Austin....

Pretty sure RA did a tour with Against Me...

As for why RA is the headliner, RA and Deftones are about as popular as each other. However, Rise Against made Savior, the longest lasting song on the alternative charts ever.
