This is alright
| |
this is actually pretty good
| |
same release date as american football judging from the released songs pretty obvious jimmy will have the better album :^)
| |
That was great. Can't wait to hear the rest.
| |
I really love the vibe of this song.
| |
I have a soft spot for them but I'm not feeling this one
| |
"same release date as american football judging from the released songs pretty obvious jimmy will have the better album"
lol owen is easily better these guys have been post-futures
| |
These two songs released so far could have easily been written/recorded in 1999-2004. No question. I don't see how anyone who loves that era of JEW couldn't be excited for this new stuff.
| |
what i'm saying is this is better than the new american football song
| |
u aren't wrong
| |
It's OK.
Nice chorus, but the lyrics and bridge are kinda eh.
| |
Saying that, I probably wouldn't be surprised if these two songs were B-sides to Bleed or Futures; not quite making the cut on those albums. But that isn't a diss, they always have excellent B-sides. Maybe these songs aren't as "deep" as what is found on those albums. But regardless, if you love Futures or Bleed, you aren't very likely to turn your nose up at No Sensitivity, You or Shame, for example.
| |
I think the bridge in this is really cool, I was surprised.
| |
sounds like a futures b-side
| |
ah, beat me to it minty
| |
To be honest after the run this band have had recently (and I love Damage), I will accept "Futures B-sides" with open arms. Damn if they haven't had some good B-sides.
| |
my comment wasn't necessarily a compliment though, this sounds exactly like a throwaway song with zero substance from the futures sessions. jim's vocals seem a bit off too
| |
At least it doesn't sound like Vengaboys (*cough* Here It Goes *cough*).
| |
lol art you are so negative
| |
So Art, what are your thoughts on Big Cars, You, Shame, When I Want, Jen, and Sparkle? Do you think those songs are better than Get Right and Sure & Certain?
| |
We could also consider Disintegration, Over and Closer as "Futures B-sides" but I'll put them to one side for now.
Not attacking you either Art, I'm just curious what you think of those songs.
| |
they have the best b-sides of any band tbh
| |
haven't heard all of those songs but not really a fan of any of the songs i've heard (apart from disintegration but that's a whole other thing). frankly, most of the tracks on futures aren't really anything worthwhile either imo but the highlights there are sooo good
| |
Great song, much better then the last single.
| |
Shame is great, When I Want, You, and Jen are decent. I don't remember Sparkle and don't think I've heard Big Cars
No Sensitivity and the other Bleed American b-sides are probably better as a whole than the Futures b-sides though
| |
listening to shame now and yeah it sounds very good
| |
its okay
| |
^lol i never thought I 'd encounter this on sputnik lol
anyway the song is pretty great, can't wait to hear the rest
| |
This was pretty good as well, I think the record will be a significant improvement over Damage.
| |
I love the bridge on this

| |
S'alright
| |
its alright
| |
It's good. First single was not good at all.
| |
Really excited. Getting that Futures vibe and I love it. Much better than their last two.
| |
dug it
| |
I like both, but this one's a bit better
| |
Song is beautiful
| |
Yeah awesome song
| |
this song is better than the last one. Dig it

pretty cool art. like these pictures they're doing
| |
The bridge is the best part honestly
| |
Beyond like two or three songs off Futures, I could never get into this band.
Maybe I've started with a wrong record? I like the singer's voice and this should have been up my alley.
| |
Try Clarity
| |
Futures is one of their best so I'd suspect you just wont like any of their albums really. My suggestion would be Chase This Light if you like pop, because it's the album that showcases his voice the most (he barely takes a breath on the whole album). If you like 90s emo then check out Static Prevails because it's so different. But really, I can't see someone liking any Jimmy Eat World album and not liking Futures.
| |
Sounds too much like Three Days Grace.
| |
...the hell?
| |
OMG thanks for the recs guys, will check them out
