hype?
hype.
| |
Didn't these guys break up like twenty years ago?
| |
new album would suck please don't do it
| |
new album won't be the same but Kinsella's still got it
teaser looks like nothing tbh
| |
theyve been teasing a new album since last year.
| |
yeah they've mentioned multiple times that they're writing new material
| |
i just don't see how they could push their sound much further.. I'm still interested but i'll be surprised if turns out to be good.
| |
yeah new album probably wouldn't be very good
| |
a new album won't live up to the hype of the s/t
| |
it had better be a new album if theyre going to be such a fucking cocktease.
| |
AAAAAAHHHHH
| |
neat
| |
I watched them tonight, they didn't mention it. Although I did leave half way through the set.
| |
welp this radically changes my existence
FUCK
| |
i think i saw it in an interview when at reading that they were writing new material
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZJp-sR4VQo
from about 3:15 theres a slight mention at a chance of getting into the studio
| |
"I did leave half way through the set."
but why
| |
"I did leave halfway through the set."
That just made your whole comment irrelevant.
| |
lol
| |
fucking excuse me
| |
what is happening
| |
The new song they've been playing live is gorgeous, get out of here with that "new album won't be very good" shiet
| |
no way jose
| |
A new album might not be as legendary as the s/t but I can never reject the idea of more Kinsella twinkly guitar.
| |
wait wtf even rijgeigjsdfgsghhvcvbxbxb
| |
I'm still a bit pissed off I didn't catch them live
| |
HYPE MOFOCKA HAIP
| |
I saw these guys at their first ever UK show last year which was pretty fun. A new album may not be as good as S/T, but it'll be interesting to hear if it does come to fruition.
| |
I'd happily take a new album from these guys, just ain't gonna live up to their self titled
| |
who fucking cares it'll be a huge letdown just like new Refused
| |
I'll never forget when I saw them at Reading Fest last year and seeing all the Cheeky Nandos GCSE Lads singing along to Never Meant
| |
"famed emo pioneers" do u mean fake emo pioneers
| |
"seeing all the Cheeky Nandos GCSE Lads singing along to Never Meant" that's the exact reason I'd never go to reading/leeds
| |
""famed emo pioneers" do u mean fake emo pioneers"
Lol. I remember pre-2010 when people were all "they're indie not emo" and then this whole emo revival thing really took off and everyone just suddenly agreed they were emo.
| |
Hope they're just trollin
Knowing how much of a douchebag Kinsella is they probably are.
| |
Mike Kinsella has released consistently good music under 'Owen' for years, new album will be good at the LEAST. Excited to hear him play some clean electric again
| |
I kinda hope they don't do another album unless it's somehow as good or better then the ST. Either way, I'm just excited to see them in October.
| |
wont be as good but now im currrious
| |
it's happening
| |
i can see the comments now when the first single drops
"this isn't as good as never meant 1/5"
| |
a lot of doofuses already say that about the other eight tracks on s/t
| |
is that what you're referring to you cheeky man
| |
Kinsella doesn't have the voice for a new Football record.
| |
Instrumental is fine by me
| |
I'll be surprised if we got an album.
| |
Dropped another trailer today and it sounded like new music in the background. This really might be happening.

I'd be down for a new album. I just started listening to them after hearing them at FunFunFunFest last year, so I'd be down to hear some good stuff.
| |
Just saw the new teaser. They'd be trolling their fans even harder than Death Grips if that wasn't for a new album.

Album announcement and new song:

! ! !
| |
Didn't expect this.
| |
New song sounds dull and uninspired compared to any song off the previous and now-17-year-old self-titled record. Pulling off a nostalgia-filled album for the sake of nostalgia - one that uses the aesthetics, concept, structure and even the title of the previous AF album - was probably the worst thing they could had possibly done with a follow-up. It's still great that a band that pioneered a genre like American Football did to midwest emo is coming out with new stuff for this younger and very different generation, however.

100% accurate except for the end. coming out with new stuff for this younger and diff generation is not necessary
| |
Yeah this is actually pretty disappointing. 85% radio pop and 15% math-ish kind of sound, plus the production is all so loud and shitty and compressed/
| |
Doesn't sound like they are trying to do anything different
| |
sucks. rlly pissed abt this but i guess they gotta make a living so its w/e
| |
Did I just hear auto tune?
| |
Also, second self titled album? LOL
| |
i like the new track, nowhere near the debut quality-wise but enjoyable nonetheless
i think anyone expecting a masterpiece would be slightly deluded tbh
| |
I like the new song
| |
New song is good. Melodically it sounds like something off of Owens last record, but the twinkles are still there.
| |
new song is kinda meh. Not particularly bad, but not particularly good.
| |
