the samples sound fantastic

The music clips sound promising and the mix sounds so much better than their last few albums. Shadows of the Dying Sun was better than Across the Dark and One for Sorrow, and I have high hopes for this new album. The idea of this being a concept album has also piqued my interest.

my first time actually hearing it, I think, and it sounds so weird. The endings of their words are often so clipped they sound like backwards recordings.

Really excited for this, though, and I'm glad they're deciding to use more blast beats this time ^_^

With Swano at the helm I am DESPERATELY hoping that Insomnium will finally release just one fucking well-produced album with some actual dynamic range. Just one, guys! Or better yet, realize just what a huge difference it makes not to have your music mixed and mastered by orcs drunk on hobo piss and stick with competent producers from now on!

I liked them on One for Sorrow too. The song and the album in general.

I was sold after the part about them rehearsing in a cabin deep in the woods and sipping on wine while listening to Crimson.

After watching that, I'm even more excited to hear this. The vocals/music from that clip sound amazing, and the ideas they talk about including here "Emperor, Edge of Sanity, Opeth" and going back to the metal sounds of the 90's, is super intriguing.
