Better than the last single they put out, the second half of the song is super chill.

I like the chorus in the first half. The second half is pretty good. Nothing spectacular, but still pretty decent from Periphery. Will be an okay album that I'll listen to a few times, then forget about.

Not bad honestly. Second half sounds more like its coming from an emo post-rock band (a la Moving Mountains) than a prog metalcore band

Grooves and chills in the right quantities. Not their best, but tasty nevertheless.

Periphery gross.

Seriously I do enjoy some modern metalcore that may be considered "generic" but how much longer will metalcore of this type live without changing? This isn't the only artist but I can't count how many bands new and old sound like this.

"This isn't the only artist but I can't count how many bands new and old sound like this."

So...basically...it's like every genre ever?

TheHung89

I understand theres that with every genre, but metalcore is one of the worst with artists that sound identical to each other. I enjoy the genre a lot, I just wish that more bands would try to branch out into new things because there are SO many of them.

Periphery can't really help it if everyone wants to sound like them.

Periphery uses no ideas/influences from anyone other than themselves to create such a distinct and unique sound

ehh for better and for worse, true it can create a unique sound at first but once you do it over and over again it becomes less and less unique and that's what I'm getting here.

He sings weird notes. He would be better as a singer for a rock band. Trying to sing stuff in weird keys over odd timed riffs doesn't suit him. He screams like a beast tho.
