song is an affront to human decency
|
| |
This "band" is embarrassing.
|
| |
FUCK 2016 was going so well. Guess we just gotta ride this out..
|
| |
geeeez
|
| |
There is no Dana nor Zuul to be found. Only shiiiit!
|
| |
I dig
|
| |
god why
|
| |
It's a blockbuster fuck about.
End credits after stay pufft has blown his muck over the street. It'll do.
|
| |
This movie is going to get a lot of agents fired. At least it can't get any worse, right?
|
| |
this is a joke, right? right?
|
| |
Is this film trying its best to make people despise it? If so it's working brilliantly.
|
| |
This is abysmal.
|
| |
nope
nope nope nope nope FUCKING NOPE
|
| |
I didn't think the movie could get any worse...
|
| |
i have never wanted a movie to fail more in my entire existence
|
| |
More like Sell Out Boys amirite?
|
| |
Disgusting
|
| |
God y'all are whining crybabies.
Song is aight, I guess. Not their worst.
|
| |
Vocals aren't the worst thing in the history of anything ever, but the song is out right offensive. I hate this movie.
|
| |
because y'all loved the original Ghostbusters theme so much
|
| |
Uh yeah, pretty sure the original is a pretty classic song, wouldn't you say?
|
| |
"God y'all are whining crybabies.
Song is aight, I guess. Not their worst."
no
|
| |
Patrick Stump is a damn good singer but honestly I don't know what this is supposed to be...
Make another Infinity on High please Fall Out Boy the melodies on that record are fantastic.
|
| |
Making this movie fail even more?
BRAVO FALL OUT BOY
|
| |
The original theme was pretty awful too
|
| |
Pretty bad, would've preferred if Walk the Moon's cover was released as the theme to this, seeing as they sound a lot more 80s than FOB.
|
| |
Is this film trying its best to make people despise it? If so it's working brilliantly. [2]
|
| |
"The original theme was pretty awful too"
sure but at least it was catchy.. this is just a mess.
|
| |
holy shit that was bad
|
| |
Uh yeah, pretty sure the original is a pretty classic song, wouldn't you say?
maybe listen to it again
|
| |
It's a blockbuster fuck about.
End credits after stay pufft has blown his muck over the street. It'll do. [2]
Lol.
|
| |
So, this is what Spengler warned us about with "crossing the streams" and all, huh?
|
| |
This website talking about a shitty FOB cover and a new MIW single but Yellowcard just released a single??
|
| |
kill me now
|
| |
can always count on FOB news for some chuckle worthy insult slinging
|
| |
it's not bustin by neil cicierega 0/10
|
| |
Coheed and Cambrias version is far better and is for fun at live shoes. This FOB version is not very appetizing and definitely needs more inspiring sounds, to say the least...and I like FOB.
|
| |
Not good.
|
| |
I'M NOT AFRAID
TO TAKE A STAND
EVERYBODY
COME TAKE MY HAND
|
| |
RIP Ghostbusters, fuck you 2016.
|
| |
Haven't heard it and I already think it's shit.
|
| |
This thread is hilarious.
|
| |
This band's existence is also pretty fucking hilarious tbh.
|
| |
Holy shit this was poor. Even the Lamb of God version was better.
|
| |
Worst song I've heard all year.
The original song is annoying as fuck anyway.
|
| |
more like fail out boy hehe
|
| |
I personally hate Bill Murray so the first movie sucked imo and this one will too.
|
| |
Whoever came up with this idea, go fuck yourself
|
| |
shut up
|
| |
No thank you, I love pre-hiatus fob tho
|
| |
^^^ yup.
|
| |
"I'M NOT AFRAID
TO TAKE A STAND
EVERYBODY
COME TAKE MY HAND"
Exactly what I thought when I saw that title lol.
|
| |
i like the original ghost busters song :[
|
| |
the worst film idea of all time just got a whole lot worser
|
| |
The original song was pretty decent, but the real killer Ghostbusters song is the one that Bobby Brown has in the second movie.
WELL I GUESS
WE'RE
GONNA
HAVE
TO
TAKE THEM DOWN
(gotta gotta take control, gotta gotta gotta take controllllll)
|
| |
Patrick Stump is terrible and his transition towards pop is one of the most abysmal career choices ever. At lest Urie has the range and presence for a pop career.
|
| |
I never had too much of an attachment to Ghostbusters, or the original theme song; but dear lord I feel sorry for everyone who did who just listened to this trainwreck of a cover.
Fuck, Fall Out Boy has fallen since getting back together.
|
| |
I actually liked Soul Punk. And I liked Fall Out Boy before their hiatus. But this... bleugh.
|
| |
If there is a god this film will tank like no other
|
| |
doofus setting unrealistic expectations because theres no way in hell this movie is bombing, everyone is going to go to the theater so they can complain about how bad it is.
|
| |
good point, we've already started complaining
|
| |
yeah ill be there at the midnight screening complaining all the way through dont you worry
|
| |
Nah, I'm pretty sure it's going to bomb. The whole SJW push for an all-female cast and the not-so subtle implication of sexism against those who like the original -- the fondness of which has nothing to do with there being four male leads -- has pissed off the film's target audience. They took a big crap on the white male nerds and their nostalgia for the original that's necessary for said nerds to open their wallets in going to see it. In the age of down movie ticket revenues, this does not seem like a very profitable marketing strategy.
|
| |
It'll have a decent opening week, followed by a massive drop by its second week.
It'll probably recoup its budget and about half of its marketing costs but nothing more.
|
| |
you guys underestimate people's drive to see bad things to shit on them. How do you think TMNT made 420 million dollars?
|
| |
I haven't seen a movie in theaters since the first Hobbit movie. This will not help to break that trend.
|
| |
There was nothing wrong with the originals, why bother making an incredibly unfunny remake.. i dont know about you guys but ive personally never found females to be capable of being humorous. ever. But in fairness I find very few male comedians to be genuinely funny either... Maybe guys like me are the reason this movie was made.
|
| |
guys like you are also why theres a massive "SJW" push towards anyone criticizing the film.
|
| |
and any hollywood comedy is reliant on how willing the director/screen writers are to make something good and not the same garbage that constricts any comedians from actually giving a decent performance. Theres only so many ways to try to make a horrible script not as horrible in action.
|
| |
@Cl0ver: TMNT at least had good CGI, some nice fight scenes and such to keep us entertained and distracted from the fact that there's no substance.
The new Ghostbusters has terrible CGI (from the trailers), a very boring cast (other than Liam Hemsworth but he's basically just gonna be used as fodder for the lead actresses to stare at), and the jokes are mostly centered around third wave feminism nonsense and how it's difficult for the heavier actress to fit into things.
|
| |
are the jokes centered around third wave feminism? ive only seen two trailers but the worst of the jokes are "get it? because they have vaginas!"
just your typical hollywood flavor of "women" comedy. That or "generic street smart black lady".
|
| |
The various jokes I've seen in the trailer (like when the woman falls off the stage) and a few others are all hinting that it's gonna be a major focus of the film.
I actually enjoyed Bridesmaids (where a few of these actresses are from), but it doesn't look like it's going to have even remotely the same flair.
|
| |
Just saw the new trailer to see what youre talking about. I think that just plays into the "generic street smart black lady" thing I was talking about. The one that makes vaguely stereotypical language or actions and then ties ironic race comments into it.
|
| |
people should actually be excited because this could possibly mark the beginning of the end of a remake centric Hollywood.
|
| |
"people should actually be excited because this could possibly mark the beginning of the end of a remake centric Hollywood."
How one can dream
How one can dream
I've been seeing a lot of high budget video game / anime adaptations go into development (not development hell for once), and the Warcraft movie actually wasn't half bad (and was profitable) so hopefully Hollywood will swing in that direction.
|
| |
if reboots/adaptations keep making money, the practice will never end. critic reviews and fan reception doesnt affect for profit studios and distributors.
|
| |
In other news, Lionsgate acquired the rights to produce a live action Naruto film and it's coming to theaters in 2017.
Fucking Lionsgate
|
| |
I can't wait for their next album, American History X / American Pie.
|
| |
lionsgate is one of the worst studios in the industry so I'll make sure avoid it.
|
| |
Also apparently Lionsgate is producing a My Little Pony live action theatrical film.
Where the fuck is Jac
|
| |
"live action"
lord have mercy.
|
| |
or should I say, Celestia have mercy.
|
| |
Let's not forget about the live action Power Rangers coming to theaters as well, also from Lionsgate
|
| |
no seriously I HATE lionsgate as a studio, they used to have a pretty solid line-up but now they get the rights to distribute and produce the most banal films in the industry.
|
| |
I have two Naruto tattoos, if they fuck up the live action film I'm going to be more than a little peeved.
More peeved than when I saw Dragonball Evolution.
|
| |
"if they"
this isn't even a concern. dont waste money on it.
|
| |
That implies that power rangers wasnt always live action.. anyway i think it will be dope
|
| |
may as well start thinking of cover up ideas now malachite
|
| |
"This isn't even a concern, don't waste money on it."
I have to go see it; this is a franchise I've supported since before I was ten years old, literally over a decade of dedication. I've cosplayed as a multitude of the characters, and I have both the Uchiha Insignia and the Akatsuki Cloud tattooed on me. I absolutely have to see it, I can't just ignore something like that.
|
| |
Wow, this is so bad.
|
| |
"I have to go see it; this is a franchise I've supported since before I was ten years old, literally over a decade of dedication. I've cosplayed as a multitude of the characters, and I have both the Uchiha Insignia and the Akatsuki Cloud tattooed on me. I absolutely have to see it, I can't just ignore something like that."
or just buy one of the animated movies on blu-ray and call it even. its fucking idiotic to go out of your way to spend money on something you know will suck and then be bitter about it for the next few days-weeks.
|
| |

so fucking american yeah buddy! blind product loyalty!
|
| |
"or just buy one of the animated movies on blu-ray and call it even. its fucking idiotic to go out of your way to spend money on something you know will suck and then be bitter about it for the next few days-weeks."
I have the entirety of the first series on DVD, all ten box sets uncut. It's not idiotic to give something a try, I just don't know if I'm gonna go to the theaters to see it first. I'm probably gonna wait for a leak online first.
|
| |
If nothing else, this song alone proves without a shadow of a doubt how big the disconnect between the people behind this movie and pop culture is.
Might download a camrip of this when it comes out, if only because I feel bad about James Rolfe getting bullied by all those publications for expressing his opinion.
|
| |
James Rolfe and his opinion?
Explain Froot.
|
| |
to be fair, the james rolfe video was a complete waste of time and just seemed like it was there for the sake of James getting in on the ghostbusters hate. not saying the hate on him was justified, it was just a stupid video all together.
|
| |
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hz8X2A7wHyQ
Note the level-headed, calm and collected nature of the video, and his argument having zero to do with the gender-flip or feminism.
http://img.4plebs.org/boards/tv/image/1463/63/1463639767357.jpg
Motherfucking huffington post covered it as well http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/ghostbusters-boycott-critic_uk_573d9515e4b058ab71e654d7
It's like, could these people be any more sensitive?
|
| |
who cares he said he wasn't going to see it because it looks shit oh wow a logical opinion
|
| |
people who get ad revenue for escalating non existent drama, obviously.
|
| |
"people who get ad revenue for escalating non existent drama, obviously."
Well, if studios are gonna keep pumping out shitty remakes, might as well find a way for the average joe to profit off of them so that we're not left out in the dark.
|
| |
its honestly probably a product of all the festering hate the "SJW" crowd grew over the legitimately gross comments regarding the cast of the film and its existence turning into blind hatred of any form of criticism towards it, even stuff as calm, valid, and collected as James' video. Its just a complete disregard for level headed logic on top of the fact media outlets know "we can profit off of this" by writing articles recapping the 'drama" (which equates to some tweets and tumblr posts most of the time) on their lame news sites. Im wouldnt be surprised if James himself saw it coming when he made the video.
|
| |
it doesn't take a scientist to realize if you (as any form of authority on anything) post an opinion on the internet the internet will bitch.
|
| |
The internet is made for bitching, then profiting off said bitching, then profiting off the bitching of people bitching about your bitching.
#Capitalism
|
| |
god bless america
|
| |
there is no blind hatred based on gender towards this it looks fucking garbage
|
| |
LMAO
|
| |
There are quite a lot of people who do direct hate on this over the fact that its a female reboot, it was there back when it was all simply speculative rumors if such a movie was even in production. It was in full swing when that picture of the cast posing in that hospital found its way online.
But there is quite a lot of valid and correct hate towards the fact it looks like pure garbage cookie cutter bullshit. But on the internet its nigh impossible to state a position without being a representative of the worst extremes of either side of the fence. Which sucks an awful lot.
thats how the internets always worked, honestly.
|
| |
"there is no blind hatred based on gender towards this it looks fucking garbage"
head out of the sand please.
|
| |
I don't hate it because of the female cast, quite a few of them are actually talented actresses.
I hate it because of shitty CGI, a terrible script with mediocre at best jokes, and being a blatant cash grab.
|
| |
Even worse than their regular shite, it's impressive
|
| |
alright 1% hate it because there are women in it there ya go. it's a very small minority and you know it
|
| |
I wouldn't say it's THAT small.
I'd say it's about a quarter of the people who are only hating on it because it's an all women cast.
The other 75% of us hate it because all the components of the film look like shit so far.
|
| |
"thats how the internets always worked, honestly."
no dude it wasn't. there was not this much vitriol pervading every corner or outlet even 10 years ago. the consistent complaining and bitching took a huge upturn not so long ago by my experience. it's like for every pleasant or neutral statement on anything there's 17 statements either complaining or shitting on the same thing. people didn't take advantage of the anonymity to this degree they actually kind of used their own personalities online. now there's online personalities and your real personality.
|
| |
I mean, it depends on the issue but back then when there was a topical argument it was always a flame war to some degree. The internets never been some semi-composed debate ground, its just there wasnt as much degree of coverage on how petty mass arguments got because that wasnt where media and population majority attention was turned to.
I will agree it got worst than it was, but its always been pretty awful.
|
| |
the internet has always been full of hot takes and shitty opinions ever since it began
|
| |
lazyeye has been one of the chosen perpetrating it from the beginning.
|
| |
I personally hate Bill Murray
#Brexit this web site, you dumb cunt.
|
| |
The internet got worse when people actively started going out of their way trying to ruin people's lives.
"Oh, you think your argument is better than mine? Well I'm gonna send out of context quotes to your boss and ruin your livelihood by getting you canned because I'm not mature enough to step off."
|
| |
LMAO. No.
|
| |
"LMAO. No."
Are you saying that to my comment?
|
| |
the song prolly
|
| |
ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ME?
IS MY INSECURITY SHOWING NOW?
HELLO? ANYONE?
|
| |
Hi someguest, missed u
|
| |
: )
|
| |
My insecurities usually fall into the bottle of grey goose I down every once and a while.
|
| |
Bar friends are fun yet unreliable.
|
| |
wow buy some better vodka tbh
|
| |
Grey Goose is nostalgic for me, reminds me of my middle school years.
I don't really have bar friends, I have getting drunk in friend's basement with friends friends.
|
| |
This is what we all wanted and needed.
|
| |
this is why panic! at the disco was the better band
|
| |
Ironically, FOB is the only reason people even know about P!ATD
|
| |
thats the best part, yeah. patrick has no business in pop music in the slightest.
|
| |
Cork Tree pt. 2 please.
|
| |
Bad.
|
| |
But Soul Punk was a pretty good album, I thought. I think it's more that Patrick has no business in the pop music that FOB wants to make. His solo stuff is rock-solid.
|
| |
huh, never heard of soul punk, this is actually sounding pretty great from the Allie song im hearing. Looks like you have the "what FOB wants to make" thing nailed on the head.
|
| |
now i just feel silly.
|
| |
I don't see how it's "blind hatred" to point out Hollywood and mass media have a tendency to ascribe themselves a moral duty and virtue for rewriting, revising or "correcting" some popular work of fiction because they perceive the original as "oppressive," "misogynistic," "racist," "homophobic," etc. Whether it really is -- well, those are the public debates we should be having openly in societies. I haven't the foggiest why noticing this imposition of values and the moral preening and sneering that often accompany it aren't reasonable grounds for criticism.
Let me speak frankly: It's social engineering, and I don't like it. It's an exercise in power to take something beloved, remake it in your image and proclaim your own righteousness for doing so in order for all to see. Then, when some protest to such blatant self-aggrandizement, the vocal opposition is slandered as "bigots," and by proxy, the silent detractors gaslighted into either submission or self-flagellation for being wise to and taking issue with this pompous sham. Disregarding aesthetic worries, these are more than perfectly legitimate reasons to criticize Ghostbusters 2016 or any project more concerned with "social justice" instead of its own entertainment and fiduciary obligations.
|
| |
i mean... the issue is that its an hour and half movie that will most likely have 0 pop culture relevance unlike the original ghostbusters. so i dont get all uppity about the idea of a "all female reboot" or vice versa. Its too tongue in cheek to be malicious. its just a bad idea because the people behind it aren't putting any real care in making it an endearing product, which is why all these negative things are being attributed to it... despite the original product never actually claiming to be what you say it to be.
|
| |
Don't mind Fall Out Boy, but this sucked.
|

Don't mind Fall Out Boy, but this sucked. [2]

Don't mind Fall Out Boy, but this sucked. [3]
|
| |
Wow, several months later and this is still one of the worst things I've ever heard.
|
| |
Coheed and Cambria did it so much better
|
| |
