"I'm A Wrecking Ball"
Miley Cyrus influence?
|
| |
why not
|

seems like a lot of yellowcard artwork since they came back has just been photographs of random places with nothing going on in them. i mean yea its pretty and the particular colour combinations of the photos fit with album's music and mood but seems kinda boring to do it more than once

sowing core yay

I'm getting emo vibes off this.
Hyped regardless.

Will it be as bad as Lift a Sail? Place your bets

Their last few albums (except Lift a Sail probably) have been an attempt to recreate Ocean avenue in every single way (mood, artwork, lyrics, style), and remind us why they were so successful with that album. Don't get me wrong, I still dig OA, L&S and Paper Walls, but I haven't been able to get into them since their comeback. Lift a sail is pretty bad (imo). The exit of their drummer really affected them, so we'll see how this one turns out.

Lift a Sail is a fine album, though certainly not Souther Air. But I think the replacement drummer (at least for the moment) was the WATIC drummer, and he is certainly no slouch.

Always nice to hear some new Yellowcard. No doubt will be another 3.5/5
|
| |
The replacement drummer is Nate Young of Anberlin
|
| |
^ You're right.
Looks like Chianelli was only around for a show.

Very excited for this just because it's Yellowcard. Waiting for a new single to be released though before I get very excited. I'm confident they will deliver like they always have for me though.
|
| |
Honestly who is actually the drummer for these guys now?
I keep hearing Young, Chianelli, and Tucker Rule. I know all three of them have played live with the band but who is actually tracking in the studio?
|
| |
Nate Young from Anberlin is the official drummer of Yellowcard since Anberlin's breakup

Fucking 10/10

Rule and Young are both listed as Session / Live members, but it doesn't look like either of them are official members.
|
| |
Will probably be 3, 3.5 max.

Lets hope it is a return to form. Latest was pretty mediocre by their standards. Still excited though, they're talented and pretty much the only pop punk outfit I still give a fuck about.

I liked that they were trying new things with Lift A Sail but I think they oversold the "huge rock album" appeal that hey so desperately wanted it to come across with, and ultimately it ended up being an identity crisis with a lot of great songs sprinkled in
I'm ready for them to invest their creativity in something new as long as they don't force it to be something that isn't naturally them...for instance, I could see them doing a stripped down record, or go in the indie-folk direction. I'd also be okay with them creating another Southern Air, because let's be honest who doesn't Ocean Ave version 3/4/5/?

preach it sowing, preach it.
|

paper walls & lights and sounds>the rest (unpopular opinion though)
|
| |
I love all their albums at least a little, but my ranking is:
1) Ocean Avenue
2) Southern Air
3) Paper Walls
4) When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes
5) Lights and Sounds
6) Lift a Sail
7) One for the Kids (still great though)
8) Where We Stand
9) Midget Tossing

paper walls>lights and sounds>WYTT>ocean ave>southern air>lift a sail=one for the kids>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>the other two
|
| |
Southern Air > Paper Walls > When You're Through Thinking > Ocean Avenue > Lights & Sounds > Lift a Sail.
Never heard the older stuff. I agree with Sowing's comment on Lift a Sail, but I honestly didn't find a single great song in the bunch.
|
| |
The t/t, One Bedroom, Illuminate, and The Deepest Well were all pretty excellent
|
| |
Ehhhh disagree =D

imo southern air>paper walls>lights and sounds>wyttsy>lift a sail>ocean avenue>one for the kids>where we stand>midget tossing
