Placebo 20th Anniversary Tour 2016-03-17 by Tunaboy45 | 16 Comments | Placebo have announced a world tour, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their debut album. Tickets go on sale 18th March.
On the tour and setlist, frontman Brian said:
Let’s just say there will be songs in the set that I’ve sworn never to play again. I think it’s time that we purposefully acknowledged what a lot of Placebo fans really want to hear. They’ve been very patient with us since we rarely play our most commercially successful material. A 20 year anniversary seems like the right time to do so. That’s our intention. This tour is very much for the fans and a chance for us to revisit a lot of our early material. So, if you want to see us play songs like ‘Pure Morning’ and ‘Nancy Boy’ which we haven’t played in almost ten years and may not play again, then you’d better come along to these shows! We’ll have some surprises in there too.

Hopefully I'll catch them on one of the UK dates.
| | | They're shit
| | | I think the deciding factor on whether people love or hate them is Brian's vocals.
| | | hard to think of a 90's band who aren't still plugging away touring...Skunk Anansie, Terrorvision, Baby Chaos...you name 'em they're still out there
| | | Hope to be able to see them in Moscow.
| | | Where's cast when you need 'em?
| | | They're still kicking as far as I know.
| | | Yeah? Blinding. We are going, fuck this placebo nonsense.
| | | Placebo is hardly a '90s band.
| | | They had equal popularity in both the late 90s and the early 2000s.
| | | they formed in 1994. That makes them a 90's band
| | | WORLD tour = just europe
| | | Now this I can get behind
| | | Placebo to Sleeping With Ghosts (and maybe Meds) is their best stuff and since that's what they'll be playing mostly it should be great.
| | | If they're gonna be exploring more of their earlier stuff, as they say here, then there won't be much off SWG or Meds, they have 3 albums before that.
| | | Nvm Tuna I see now you wrote Placebo TO Sleeping. My bad
