That being said, I love Portals... so this might be a bit of a shock.

It's not similar to Portals... at all, but any fan of the band should still find a way to enjoy this.

You gotta listen to Stagnant Perceptions bro. It's their best in my opinion. It's kind of like the opposite of Portals... instead of black metal taking precedence and screamo being a secondary type of thing, screamo is the highlight and there is some serious black metal influences. At least that's how it feels to me.

This actually rips hard. Chris' vocals sound really great and I think improve as the track goes on, and the usage of bass in this is just awesome. Feels slightly crustier than past stuff and I can dig that.
