Disclosure drop new track

2015-05-01 by Will R. EMERITUS | 23 Comments
UK pop-house duo Disclosure has released a new song, "Bang That." The song is ostensibly a piece to tide fans over "as work speedily progresses on [their] next record," and marks their first track since 2014's Friend Within collaboration "The Mechanism."

I don't like it either, unfortunately.

How they went from making tracks like 'What's In Your Head' or 'Tenderly' to generic bro-house is a mystery to me. Maybe the edm crowds have somehow convinced them that it's the way to go. Money to make I guess...

Settle at least was a decent effort but this is really boring and borderline obnoxious.

Or maybe they just patched something up on a whim so people would leave them alone about their next record and will go back to their usual jazz on the album.

"this is deep house at its finest im in love"

Goddammit, I knew people would still call this deep house. Settle is good, fuck this though.

With different intention (and vocal samples) this could've been much better.

I don't understand all the hate. This is very different from Disclosure's usual work, but I am loving this!

I don't even feel Settle was good aside from a few tracks so why check this

Sadly I never really got any of the hype for Disclosure, but I would've found this bland no matter who had produced it.
I shouldn't be feeling so cynical about dance music, I really know I shouldn't.

Prefer that track with Friend Within tbh. Hoping that this doesn't actually reflect the album.

Meh, I didn't think it was terrible, it's got a good beat but maybe a little on the obnoxious side with the vocal samples

"most likely won't reflect the album's content"

hopefully, if this is the only song on the record with this style it'll probably end up being more diverse that Settle
