heavy as a really heavy thing
|
| |
Track's not too shabby. Just wished the instruments were more diverse, the guitars don't get interesting until around the 3:30 mark.
|
| |
Not bad at all, but sounds quite Slipknot/Linkin Park-y doesn't it?
|
| |
The vocals are better and interestingly there's even more Meshuggah influence, especially given some of the dissonant guitar leads.
|
| |
Track is legit. I've never listened to a Periphery record in full, but this new double album seems like a great place to start.
|
| |
I actually really dug The Scourge but this blows it away. The last minute or so is when Spencer does that final scream actually send shivers through my skin. It's been a long time since music did that.
|
| |
I actually like The Scourge more than this. But this is good too.
Its looking like this should be a great album!
|
| |
Misha did a recording demo with this song. It's was actually beneficial if your new to recording metal/rock.

this record has some hope so far
|
| |
what's with people liking periphery on sputnik now?
|
| |
probably has something to do with the two songs they've released actually being good
|
| |
Yeah I was never in on this bandwagon. Seeing
as they suck live and how pretensious a double
djent album is I don't suppose that will
change. Haven't listened to the new tracks btw
|
| |
"what's with people liking periphery on sputnik now?"
Haters haven't noticed yet.
|
| |
"probably has something to do with the two songs they've released actually being good"
Lol no, everything on their last EP is better than these songs
|
| |
I only comment like three times a year here now but good god this band sure has gotten much shittier.
|
| |
I liked their first album, I did not like the second or the Clear EP. Hopefully this will be better. It sounds decent.
|
| |
well...it's better than Clear. I think I'm just starting to realize I really don't like Spencer Sotelo and his new Corey Taylor ripoff bullshit.
|
| |
"Seeing as how they suck live"
Lolwut. Every recent live performance I have seen they have absolutely nailed it. Spencer is actually better live than on album if you ask me.
|
| |
^truth. spencer can nail black metal shrieks like its nobodies business
|
| |
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
|
| |
Solid song
|
| |
And those growls. I keep thinking he'll throw some on the new material but I have yet to hear any lows that compare to some of the shit he's done live. Oh well.
I like the song... definitely don't love it though. Their guitar work on the past two tracks has just been so damn bland. Throwing some good melodies in there would add so much.
|
| |
Bringz the djent
|
| |
decent.
|
| |
I like it. It's not necessarily crazy guitar wise, but it's back to being rhythmic with atmosphere. You can definitely tell this is a predominantly Misha written song versus their more collaboration sounding more recent stuff.
|
| |
what atmosphere are u talking about lmao
|
| |
sounds even more suggah influenced
|
| |
sounds even more suggah influenced
|
| |
Dig song. Seems like they are ditching some of the emphasis on guitar complexity for a more big sound.
|
| |
sounds even more suggah influenced
|
| |
dig
|
| |
not bad. it's piqued my curiosity on their jugg album though.
|
| |
Bahaha the beggining talk/yell vocals remind me so much of Emmure. Good job, boys. Also digging the lifeless ambient line they added to the obvious Meshuggah bits. Trying to create atmosphere and falling flat. Wooh.

|
| |
Digging the more straight forward "djenty" guitar sound they have going here. Was never able to get into any of their past shit, but I'm liking this so far.
|
| |
"Misha did a recording demo with this song."
Haha, I was wondering where else I'd heard this
Song is obv better than the previous one but I think I'm starting to get bored by this band..
|
| |
"Song is obv better than the previous one but I think I'm starting to get bored by this band.."
I'm fearing this is the case for me as well. Which sucks because when I adore their first album and Spencer is one of my favorite vocalists. But this stuff is just so lifeless. It has a few good moments and a lot of not so good ones.
|
| |
boring
|
| |
Holy bad. Well, at least they appropriately named it that song title.
|
| |
I like this one better than the other one. Pretty standard stuff so far though.
|
| |
I liked the part when the stuff happened
|
| |
dang, i hated that part; it was the worst
|
| |
Damn stuff always popping up when you least need it to
|
| |
Damn thought i would dig this more considering I've been on a huge Periphery kick lately, its not bad but I just feel slightly underwhelmed by this song. Still stoked for the Album(s)
|
| |
I have never liked his note choice whilst singing for Periphery. Kind of goofy notes.
|
| |
"Bahaha the beggining talk/yell vocals remind me so much of Emmure"
this. fucking fire spencer.
|
| |
Jesus christ they sound like 'Woe, Is Me' on their second disc.
|
| |
Horrible
|
| |
I noticed these guys still fucking make me cringe.
|
| |
lmao whatever rad jams
|
| |
A b c d e f g
|
| |
Spencer is a tool
|
| |
My autocorrect just changed Periphery to "Preamp Herby"
I feel that describes this song adequately
|
| |
"My autocorrect just changed Periphery to "Preamp Herby"

haha thats awesome, also the Herby movies fucking rule.
|
| |
Why do they feel the need to release the singles they previewed in the studio videos?
Song was pretty alright, nothing more.
|
| |
My autocorrect just changed Periphery to "Preamp Herby"
I feel that describes this song adequately
but.... periphery is an actual word...
|
| |
confused me too, apple products bruh
|
| |
First track they released was a lot better, this ain't to bad though
|
| |
Pretty straightforward breakdown @ 2:50 by Periphery standards. I guess everyone needs a "mosh track" on their album.
