Patrick Wolf Retires

2007-04-23 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 11 Comments
Patrick Wolf's fans have fucked up.

Wolfy interrupted a thread at his semi-official fan message board to announce his impending retirement from the world of pop, a mere two months after unleashing his breakthrough album The Magic Position.

Seemingly distraught at the endless speculation over his private life, Wolf took exception to certain heavy-handed comments which suggested the singer was on a "power trip"- in reference to the unceremonious firing of his drummer at a recent New York show. The sticksman had passed-out mid-performance under the influence of, um, something.

"I have made a decision, my final concert will be this November, a retrospective with an orchestra in London," Patrick explained. "I am not sure whether there will be anymore public communications after that, In fact I am pretty sure there will be none. Of course, this has nothing to do with my drummer.. but a creative clock is ticking and I have many many projects to be creating with my time left on this earth. I hope to share my last shows with you this year...

"I have enjoyed making and performing music for you all, I have enjoyed trying to give a little hope and inspiration to the world. But I feel, especially when I read all this and I go about my days that I have failed."

Anthony and his clan, the Johnsons, attacked him in a dark alley.

hmmm, im happy.
Even happier after this.
He 'retired' cos he fired his drummer? So the fact that everyone in Britain calls him gay every time his name comes up didnt reeli bother him?

a 21 year old guy (he is summit like 21 rite?) has about 56 years worth of plans? doubt it. It was the drummer

tis a sad day.

and who quits music because of their drummer, SCT?

besides, i doubt he cares about people calling him gay. cause he's kinda out of the closet.

New album is really happy, but the rest of his works are actually pretty sombre.

I think he's just having a mini-breakdown type thing and he'll be back after some time off, but yeah it's a real shame if it's true.

what REELI bothers me is people who comment on things that they are obviously ignorant about and then can't spell correctly, which implies that they must be ignorant of all things.
