It's a fun song, but pretty generic for these guys imo.
| |
I think I'm over this band now. Self-titled was their best.
| |
roolz yep yep yep
| |
I really like the lead playing, but I hate the "djenty" parts
| |
I like it. Really glad Bulb did the production.
| |
So boring
| |
Album is looking less and less promising with every song.
| |
one of the most straightforward songs theyve made. dig it, but if this is what the whole album is like, i'll be
disappointed...
we shall see
| |
so can AAL do a joint tour with Andy McKee and have it be called
The Joy and Art of Motion Tour?
| |
Took a while to get used to it. The rhythmic parts were a bit eh, but the leads were kind of cool
along with some of the riffs. Hopefully the band doesn't go in this direction though and this is the
"worst" track, I like the usual AAL way more than this and this will kind of be a waste of Matt
Garstka's talent if they decide to go in this direction. Hopefully...
| |
"The Joy and Art of Motion Tour?"
would rule
| |
I haven't really enjoyed any of their songs since the S/T. Sad.
| |
I've enjoyed every release they have and will probably thoroughly enjoy this one as well.
| |
Still shreds.
| |
Digging it.
| |
Better than the previous song, but still nothing special
| |
whats with those fucking breakdowns
| |
Kinda generic but fun. The sound is a lot better than on past releases at least.
| |
Still like it.
| |
Still legit after all
| |
Meh kinda sounds like veil of maya, which would be cool if they were veil of maya.
| |
band will not disappoint m/
| |
really great stuff
| |
Cant believe the hate this is getting, the production alone is miles beyond their other shit. Also song crushes, really stoked to nerd out all djent prog core love style.
| |
djent prog core love style
agreed
| |
Not sure how I feel about this, thought Tosin said it was going to be more like their self-titled. guess i'll wait till i hear the whole album
| |
Diging this more than anything on Weightless. And as long as whole album isn't like this, it's cool.
It's really apparent that Misha co-wrote this and I heard that Diego from Volumes co-wrote some songs too, so I guess it will have some more djunz than the older material.
| |
djazz metal
| |
i like it but somethings just not there.
| |
rulez
| |
Tosin's biggest mistake was deciding to collab with two people who are less talented than him who preform in far inferior bands to his own. What are you thinking, Tosin?! I mean, Periphery is can be pretty good, but Volumes is like the most generic djent-core nonsene breakdown band...ugh
| |
Good point, but just because they are less talented guitar players doesn't mean they can't write great riffs or rhythms. I think the 2 songs I heard so far are more accessible, catchy feel to them. I think it's a fun listen.
| |
volumes rules but has no place in AAL's writing process
| |
Misha alone would suffice just like the s/t
| |
"Tosin's biggest mistake was deciding to collab with two people who are less talented than him who preform in far inferior bands to his own. What are you thinking, Tosin?! I mean, Periphery is can be pretty good, but Volumes is like the most generic djent-core nonsene breakdown band...ugh"
He's collabbed with Misha before, dude. Misha programmed all the drums for the S/T that everyone can't stop comparing all of his recent work to. Tosin is obviously enjoying making music with these people, if you don't dig it, write something better or listen to something esle. If you feel so entitled that he owes you a masterpiece, maybe you should eh, well, nevermind.
| |
I think I'm over this band now. Self-titled was their best. [2]
| |
this is lowest common denominator "djent." why listen to this generic shit when artists like Cloudkicker and Sithu Aye have material that's so much better?
| |
slaaayss
| |
not bad but this might just be another weightless
| |
"this is lowest common denominator "djent." why listen to this generic shit when artists like Cloudkicker and Sithu Aye have material that's so much better?"
so wrong
| |
"I haven't really enjoyed any of their songs since the S/T. Sad."
Hey, cylindrical sea is actually a pretty excellent song...but yeah i think obviously their self
titled was the most creative...i think their new music is pretty cool, but doesn't really do it for me
as instrumental alone... i think if weightless had some kind of vocalist, it would actually be pretty
badass
| |
I think this song is really, really generic and not as enjoyable to listen to. Also, I'm feeling like Tosin Abasi doesn't have that creative edge as he's used to. The song has no personality, no emotion. Very bland djent and quite frankly, it is getting annoying. He needs to return to form and stop this charade of appealing to the masses and write stuff that is going to challenge his fans and listeners. AAL's first album was just brilliant song writing, and even without lyrics, told a story. This is just garbage.
| |
upon listening to this again it does feel like something is missing hmmm
| |
its not really that something is missing, its just pretty simplistic compared to what they normally do
| |
Djent is dead
| |
i really enjoy this, and no djent isn't dead lol bloc
| |
This is cool. But I don't really enjoy vocal-less music
| |
I think a vocalist would help this kind of a song, but hey I'm sure there will be a slew of songs on here that challenge listeners.
| |
something i DO think a vocalist would improve this band, other times i don't
Scale the Summit just seems to do this genre so much better. That being said I love AAL
| |
Didn't know Veil of Maya was releasing a new song so soon
| |
Talk about a band that needs a vocalist, thats all I can think when I hear STS.
| |
lol if ANY instrumental band didn't need a vocalist, it's Scale the Summit
their last two albums were perfection
| |
wasn't tosin a member of VoM? maybe this is the "fun" song of the album.
| |
Nah you're thinking of that OTHER black guy
| |
Did any of you dudes ever listen to Reflux, Tosin writes breakdowns too.
| |
wasn't tosin a member of VoM? maybe this is the "fun" song of the album.
Nah you're thinking of that OTHER black guy
Marc Okubo
Fucking lol'd
| |
Wasn't Tosin the singer for Oceano?
| |
Cool.
| |
No that was Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
common mistake
| |
Who was the wrestler again? Howard from Killswitch right?
| |
Nope its Lajon Witherspoon who plays in AAL.
| |
I know its good for once in thier life.
| |
The singer for "God Forbid" should focus more on obamacare and less on music agreed.
| |
Damn, I'm actually starting to like this the more when I listen to it.
| |
