Oh man this is gonna be ssuuuuhhhweeeeeet.
| |
Disturbed and Device frontman David Draiman, who has been serving as a producer with Trivium while recording
their new album...
ya definitely gonna be aoty material
| |
probably will be average
| |
Just what I wanted
| |
'Vengeance Falls'
wow. what a great unique interesting exciting album title
| |
Metalcore album title for sure lol
| |
No. It's called Shark Sandwich.
| |
They've been going downhill ever since Travis left.
| |
in waves was a step in the wrong direction, so i imagine this will be a leap into the shit
| |
It will still be golden when compared to Megadeth. (who thought that could ever be said)
| |
The only reason why I would bother with this record is that Matt Heafy covered an Opeth song and he's been wearing a lot of black metal shirts. So the inspiration on this record might be stellar, or not, who knows.
| |
Haven't we all been talking about this on this site for about 2 weeks now?
| |
lol album title. Looks like they had too much influence from that God of War song they did a couple years back. As long as this sounds like Shogun, I'll be happy.
| |
If they go the route of Shattering The Skies above, and have more songs like Shogun, they would be more appreciated. Hopefully Matt's harshes are better than on egg whites.
| |
Ascendancy and Shogun were great, I don't give a fuck what any of you pretentious fucks say. In Waves, however, was...
And bringing in this motherfucker is about as bad a sign as possible.
| |
"Hopefully Matt's harshes are better than on egg whites."
You prefer Boat Rudder?
| |
Boat rudder had some good riffs though.
| |
getting my 1 ready.
| |
Gonna be shitting bricks over this.
| |
my vagina is ready
| |
gonna be a 2.5-2. i can feel it in my bones
| |
3 for me, because I actually like this band.
| |
keen for some new music from them...hoping it's decent.
| |
it'll be shit cause, you know, Draiman
| |
In Waves was surprisingly interesting. Kinda stoked for the new album.
| |
Might be alright who knows with Draiman it's either great or complete shit.
| |
In Waves had a lot of cool songs...some boring ones too
| |
David Draiman telling me how great the album is really gets me interested
| |
And there better be some OooowaaaaaAAAas on here. Might 2 instead of 1 if there are.
| |
in waves was a step in the wrong direction, so i imagine this will be a leap into the shit
this band has always been a step in the wrong direction
| |
Oh geezus. That's never been said.
| |
ive never said it
| |
Men
| |
Sounds great.
| |
boat rudder strange mountain?
| |
oh god if Draiman is saying in waves was a big step and this is another huge step for trivium in his eyes then this record is going to be awful.
| |
^ Exactly what i was about to underline.
| |
How about Ascendancy II?
| |
I'd really fancy that! lol
| |
lol so essentially what Draiman is saying is that Trivium needed to become less heavy, write shorter and catchier, songs and be generally more awful in order to work with him. Because In Waves was watered down crap with some decent songs thrown in, my guess is Draiman eradicated all and any experimentation and has focused on cheesy hard rockish ballads
| |
i think i agree this could be worse than crusade
| |
hopefully not too much draiman influence
| |
In Waves was pretty good in my opinion. Nothing special but definitely a good listen.
| |
I used to enjoy the early Trivium records when I was younger but they have sucked for quite a while now. In Waves was an especially poor effort, I hold little hope for this.
| |
Draiman ruined megadeth's newest record, now is time to expect a 2-2,5 album made by trivium. He should stick in his projects ( disturbed, device). Now if you excuse I'm going to listen ascendance and shogun.
| |
Shogun II pls
| |
I liked the name "Shark Sandwich" more.
| |
me to
| |
Both Draiman and the memnbers of Trivium say that the album will be heavier. By heavy they could mean the "heavy metal" sound they brought in Black and Built to Fall (or the Metallica-identical release from 06) or TRULY heavier metal like the sound from Dusk Dismantled, Shattering the Skies Above, Insurrection, etc. This band never disappoints me, I'm a huge fanboy for them, but I'd hate to see them go with option A over something more like Ascendancy and/or Shogun.
| |
I don't really take anyone seriously if they say Boat Rudder is a bad song, shit's fantastic.
| |
I agree so much. But my opinion on anything Trivium has done or will do is irrelevant because this band is my absolute favorite.
| |
boat rudder is probably the best trivium song
| |
Ascendancy in it's entirety kills
| |
Ascendancy and Shogun both kill. In Waves has too many subpar tracks for it to be on the same level although the high moments are really great. Crusade has some really great moments too, but I'd say 4th best trivium
| |
that's ignorant
| |
Same genre does not equal same band. I don't see how anything from Shogun, for instance, matches up with anything from say, Fever. Totally different, anyone can see that.
| |
aight
| |
Andcas I know you sing Tears Don't Fall in your shower and Forever and Always when you stare into the eyes of your cat.
| |
BFMV is too manly for andcas, he prefers New Found Glory
| |
Both bands have two good albums.
| |
Ember is 2nd best. Awesome production on that.
| |
Nice to see some love for Trivium here! I love this band but man, was In Waves stale or what. My expectations are not very high knowing that Draiman is producing this.

"Hey have you guys ever thought about making monkey sounds on your album"
| |
Matt Heafy looks like a monkey when he screams, he's halfway there

LOL at the last two comments

this thread sums up my precise feelings towards Triv and Double D.

I hope he means how he can in to try and save Trivium after they released the shitty 'In Waves'
if not just fall
| |
David Draiman is the face of the cancer that is eating away at heavy music
