New FFDP Song

2013-05-14 by NeoSpaz | 25 Comments
Five Finger Death Punch have released a track from their forthcoming record The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell featuring metal veteran Rob Halford of Judas Priest. As previously stated, the album will be a 2CD release, with the first Volume being released during July, with the second volume looking to be released later in the year.

Frontman Ivan Moody said of the song that: “The song itself was originally written about overcoming everyday obstacles and less than perfect situations. Most of us weren’t born with a silver spoon in our mouth but if life dealt you all the wrong cards, you still have to play. The song’s intent is to inspire; if you play that hand right you might just come out on top anyway.”

The lyrics are really bad, as usual.

Definitely a long way from being good.

Rob Halford is the only worth thing in this.

People can hate, at least they're a heavy radio friendly band (ironically); bands like these pave the way for others as much as people don't want to admit. I dig it

Never rated these guys, but they put on a fairly decent show at download a few years back

They were at the local fair once and it was a huge auditorium thing and the security split up everyone so no one could get close to the stage and they threatened not to play unless security let people into the pit area and they said no and the singer dude said to fuck that and told everyone to bumrush the stage and they did and security said fuck it and everyone in the auditorium had pit tickets for the show. Then they played like an extra hour and everyone was happy.

Song is okay even though Rob Halford's vocals are pretty lame.

Too many of you are too concerned about some arbitrary Sputnik cred. This band can write good music
and this song is an example of that.

The disc names are cool as well

This band used to be able to write good music. The Way of The Fist was a fun macho metal album. But this new song and American Capitalist are shit with little to no effort thrown in.

Seems par for the course for the band. Won't win over any newcomers but I have always been a fan of them since their first album. I can dig it.

No it's not, it's a repeat of their entire back catalogue for christ's sake.
The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell

The title is ridiculous, as well as surprisingly similar to BMTH's album with the equally ridiculous title.

The point is, there is no sputnik cred to be earned from liking this band, their music is going downhill more with each album.

Their music is definitely going downhill. On the other hand, I relistened to American Capitalist and it was less shitty than I remembered. Band is definitely capable of writing very good music. This song was too bland undoubtedly, but it was still decent. Definitely hoping for better though with the album. Band can put out the best macho music of any.

Good for pro wrestling story line music videos.. the ones that they use to promote the pay per view matches. Or maybe the "recovery" music videos for when a wrestler is making a return.

I don't know what else this music should be used for. Maybe it can be enjoyed by trendy body builder types or the chicks who hang out with them. I don't think it is good for anything or anyone else.
