sounds like Mastodon

Ruled

Better than Mastodon.
|

sounds like precambrian first disc.

fucking A!
|
| |
pumped as hell
|

Promising
|
| |
lol "tidal wave"
|

It's enjoyable. If they plumb the depths they have on prior albums then I'm sure as a whole it'll be a great listen.
|
| |
It also sounds like they mixed some Tool in their Mastodon at the end.
|
| |
awesome.
|
| |
Nickelback worship, negd
|
| |
@Jruined I thought the same thing about the end sounding like Tool.
|
| |
sounds like Mastodon
That means nothing
|
| |
Have you heard Mastodon? They sound different every album. This certainly doesn't sound like Crack the
Skye.
The song is a pretty shameless Leviathan and Aenima rip off. It's really awesome though.
|
| |
Are you fucking kidding me?
|
| |
Pretty good song but I think the instrumental version will do more justice.
Looking forward to listening to the album as a whole.
|
| |
hehehehehehhehe
on a side note Nico from WFAHM used to be in this band
|
| |
Christ... Logic is lost on people like Potato
|
| |
Pretty cool
|
| |
@Potato
Listen to Crusher Destroyer(Remission) then listen to Creature Lives(The Hunter). Tell me that shit
sounds the same.
That's it! I'm done indulging in your moronic behavior.
|
| |
Once a time I agree with potato.. This really sounds like Mastodon on some parts.. Don't know what to
think about the track.. Maybe with more listens, it will grow.. Sure Mastodon evolved but to deny the
influence of them on this track is being "ear-blind"
|
| |
classic potato
|
| |
as long as it sounds like 2000-2009 Mastodon I'm perfectly happy with that.
|
| |
Listen to Crusher Destroyer(Remission) then listen to Creature Lives(The Hunter). Tell me that shit
sounds the same.
From their first album to their very newest is your best example of difference of sound? Mastodon has never done anything new with their sound EXCEPT on The Hunter which is hands down their weakest release.
|
| |
I enjoyed that song. Will probs check out when it's released.
|
| |
To whoever mentioned it, this is track 4 of 11 or so. Still have plenty of heaviness to come.
|
| |

Crack the Skye and the rest of their releases sound significantly different to Remission. I have no
idea how people can dispute that with a straight face.
Hint* Every time Mastodon announce a new album half the comments are about how the band should return
to their Laviathan era sound.
The quality of The Hunter has nothing to do with stylistic changes.
|
| |
11 tracks, dam. I hope the transactions work out, was kind of hoping to be something like 5 long tracks, as long as it's consistent I guess.
|
| |
I'm hoping this is better than The Ocean's 2010 albums. I like batches of the songs, but not it wasn't
consistent IMO.
|
| |
"To whoever mentioned it, this is track 4 of 11 or so. Still have plenty of heaviness to come."
Thats good news. Cant wait to hear some of the later tracks
|
| |
Please be more mature. You curse like a middle schooler. I'm actually trying to bring substance to this argument, but all you do is insult me.
who listens to one whole genre so of course the difference between leviathan and blood mountain seems relevant to you
Your right about me primarily listening to metal, but that has nothing to do with anything. While I don't claim to be an expert on anything, there is a reason why people invented sub genres. Besides, we ARE talking about a METAL band.
I'm sure I don't have to explain to you why it's relevant a band like The Ocean sound different than Fear Factory or The Dillinger Escape Plan.
|
| |
more excited for the instrumental version.
|
| |
"more excited for the instrumental version."
Same
|

Why is a Mastodon comparison being made as if it's something new? Precambrian-era Ocean already had lots of sonic overlap with Mastodon. Hell, Neoarchaean could almost be a Mastodon song.
|
| |
This track didn't do it for me, surprisingly. :-
|
| |
This band has been getting staler since Precambrian... :'(

Here's the tracklist:

great song, can't wait to pick up the CD.
|
| |
I'm guess nothing more than a return to the Precambrian sound with absolutely no musical diversity will only satisfy the old fans. Band sucks regardless.
|
| |
It really does sound a lot like Mastodon which is giving me mixed feelings. I want something similar to Precambrian or Fluxion.
|
| |
@ fromtheinside
Neoarchaean - 1:12 riff could be written by Mastodon, 2:10 riff could be written by Mastodon, vocals
at 2:20 sound like Troy, 2:27 guitar work might as well be Mastodon, 2:35 = Remission sound... parts
repeat to end of song.
Yeah, I'm just that crazy for seeing Mastodon similarities in there. In fact, I'm probably the only
person who's ever heard them. Party of one. Good call.
|
| |
what lol
|
| |
miss the precambrian era of this band.
|
| |
Hoping the rest of the album has more of a Precambrian feel than centric, at least in terms of experimentation. This song wasn't all that amazing but if the rest sounds like the samples then I'll love this album (at least the instrumental version).
|
| |
Fuck Precambrian, Aeolian was and still is 'The Oceans' best album.
|
| |
It's right up there with Precambrian agreed
