New Dream Theater Live DVD 2013-02-07 by dante1991 | 20 Comments | Dream Theater have released the trailer for an upcoming DVD of the "Dramatic Tour Of Events" tour that ran through 2011 and 2012, supporting their 2011 release "A Dramatic Turn of Events".
The DVD, simply titled "Live at Luna Park", was filmed in Buenos Aires over 2 nights in August and will be be first to feature drummer Mike Mangini after Mike Portnoy's departure in 2010.
Guitarist John Petrucci had this to say about the DVD:
"This is, without a doubt, the closest a viewer at home will come to experiencing a live Dream Theater concert. Between the hi-def and 3D video, the huge audio mix and the documentary behind-the-scenes footage, you’re transported to the arena, and completely immersed in the entire live experience.
The energy and vibe at Luna Park was truly electric and contagious: the perfect synergy between band and audience. We’re immensely proud of this DVD and incredibly excited to share it."
"Live at Luna Park" will be available in May 2013 in the formats: 2DVD, 2DVD/3CD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray/3CD, Digital video and a deluxe edition 2DVD/Blu-ray/3CD set.

| | | Will probably get this. The trailer for it was unbelievably cheesy though
| | | well it is dt
i walk beside u!!!!!!!!!!!!!
| | | Good album but the new Camel is better
| | | Can't say I care that much about them anymore since Portnoy left.
| | | I must say, the trailer put me right off. Also the last album was meh. Think I'll stick with Live at Budokan.
| | | Well, I enjoy a big part of their new album but the old shit was better. Otherwise, mike mangini is a very skilled drummmer, so it will be interesting to see how he plays.

| | | Is this some farewell concert or something? Jesus...
| | | This would be absolutely perfect if it was a good band
| | | u like btbam what would u know of gd bands boom
| | | lol band isn't even good live.
| | | Fuck's up with all the haters here?! No fans? People are so negative on this site...Jesus, for a band that's been going over 25 years, I think they're still putting out very solid stuff. To each his own I guess!
Mangini was a positive edition I thought. His drum solo live was incredible and at least it meant Portnoy's crappy backing 'grunts' are absent from new albums. People have to remember that on 'A Dramatic Turn of Events' Petrucci wrote the drumming on a drum machine then Mangini basically just followed that. On the one they're working on now expect some crazier and more creative drumming.
| | | But yeah, the trailer voice guy is funny and cheesy XD
| | | I like DT, therefore I will probably buy this as a present to myself for being extra good this year.
| | | This is like nerd music
| | | Seems intresting
| | | oooold ass news
| | | Tired band
