@Aids: What part of that statement are you uhh-ing about? Describing it as a follow-up or describing it as critically acclaimed?

I left out "Tomorrow, In A Year" because it's not really considered their album.

I totally consider Tomorrow, In A Year to be a Knife album, even if it is collaborating with other artists. It's also absolutely incredible. I can see why some people wouldn't really consider it a canonical Knife release though, so I think either way is kinda fair.

Interesting first single, song is weird as hell. Super cool though.

i think her vocals sound most akin to bjork.

Can't listen to the first disc at all, but that second disc is pretty good. Especially Colouring of Pigeons.

Never been a huge fan of these guys, but I'm interested in seeing how the new album plays out.

in terms of being unique, i'm comparing their voices. why is this so hard to understand? the first
verse of colouring of pigeons could have very well been sung by bjork and it would have sounded very
much the same.

Yeah well I love it too and I'm a huge bjork fan. I really think the comparison, at least on that track (not so sold otherwise) is at least somewhat legitimate. The enunciation of words and holding syllables especially stand out.

And you realize you're isolating one sentence of my post? Don't try to twist it into something stupid like "they sound the same because they both sing". It isn't supposed to be taken in on its own. It can (maybe) be applied to anybody on its own, but it's following a comment I made where I clarified just what I think is similar between the two artists. The way they enunciate, and the way they hang onto their ending syllables, specifically. There's also a sort of "cutesy" delivery that bjork has that shows up a lot in karin's singing in CoP.

I'm just saying plain and simply, I think there are obvious similarities in their vocal delivery, at least on CoP. And I also said that I don't really think they sound alike, but I can see why people would make the comparison.

I'm not saying anything about their ranges. They might both typically work in specific ranges, but there's some crossover for sure.

I guess you've got some personal reason to wanna isolate the two, or to claim you've somehow got some greater understanding of the differences in female vocalists. And that's cool and all, but really I haven't heard anyone sound as similar to bjork as karin does in colouring of pigeons. And I'm not saying there isn't someone else who does, but I just haven't heard them.

idk, i think for me in colouring of pigeons it's in how she enunciates the words and there are similarities in their voices. i know it's not bjork, but it's the closest comparison i have.
