Kinda a weird place for them, I think.
| |
am i the only one who finds this weird?
| |
this is weird
| |
Should sign with Relapse again
| |
i guess not. lol i can't wait for their next album, i'm expecting something better than OP
| |
Sumerian has TRAM and Mestis and they are pretty good.
| |
Dillinger brings insta-credibility to Sumerian. =]
| |
so pumped for their next album
| |
i found this rather...odd
epitaph would've been a good fit for them if they wanted to change labels but whatever i guess =/
| |
ah great, now all their supporting bands are gonna suck
| |
"ah great, now all their supporting bands are gonna suck"
Was thinking similar thoughts
| |
So are they now the only band on Sumerian with artistic cred?
| |
"epitaph isn't what it used to be so it would've been just as weird. "
touche. but i just hope sumerian doesnt fill dillinger's mind up with money making BS like victory or some shit
| |
Sumerian has Stray From The Path, show some respect people. So now they have 2 good bands...
| |
SFTP suck
| |
@tacos the band is already highly active on the business side of things, with Ben more or less acting as the band's manager. He's said in a couple of interviews (particularly in depth with the Loyola University one) that they make a great deal more money than bands considerably more popular than they are. As he talks about their various business strategies, it becomes apparent that they're quite money and business-conscious in a way that doesn't impact the quality or depth of their music. Basically, they're confident enough in what they're doing that they don't necessarily have to compromise their vision in order to get more popular - though they will continue to get bigger and bigger with each release. I don't think the record label will affect that side of things, because I simply don't think Ben would allow it. He wouldn't go into a record deal where there was any chance of the band being manipulated. Ya dig?
| |
I'm guessing these guys didn't leave Seasons Of Mist on good terms.
| |
@oltna sorry man doesn't matter what you say I'm still going to chuckle because of that damn avatar. lol
| |
Sumerian is poop but maybe they'll be the ones to start a turn-around. lol doubt it.
| |
Gonna get piles of shit flung at me but I used to enjoy Periphery, still have a soft spot for them...
| |
Sumerian has a lot of decent bands, now they have an awesome one.
| |
i see where your coming from puzzles
i just get scared by stuff like this. Not to state the obvious but look at metallica =P
| |
Yeah, look what happened to Metallica when they signed to Sumerian.
| |
-____- you know what i mean
| |
Hopefully the label doesn't force any changes on them (i.e Rise Records)
| |
I've wanted to see VoM live so maybe I'll get lucky and they'll tour together
| |
Why Sumerian? They should go back to Relapse.
| |
there is now 1 band signed to sumerian records i like
| |
"Not to state the obvious but look at metallica =P"
Not every band has a talentless, money hungry, happy-go-lucky Danish pin dick waiting in the wings to completely compromise his band's vision and shit all over their legacy for a buck or two.
"Yeah, look what happened to Metallica when they signed to Sumerian."
LOL
| |
Didn't they have their own label or something?
| |
Just like with everybody else... this seems weird to me, but weirder things have happend. Shouldn't change their sound too much more than it already would no matter the label.
| |
Obligatory "how weird" comment. But I don't care so long as I get a new album.
| |
thought this was about dillinger four, damn near shat myself in horror at the thought
| |
TDEP sign to Sumerian, are going to make bank for the label. Ben Weinmen - probably smoking meth at this point trying to write riffs with a deck of cards.
| |
don't give a fuck. Like Sumerian's flagship bands, and I love dillinger. I sense some good tours coming my way.
| |
Latest news TDEP goes #djentingalexandria.
| |
Album will be good nonetheless.
| |
Dillinger going djent would be like a whole album of the end of The Perfect Design
| |
they'd be the first band to do Djent well
| |
It would be like putting a bowtie on a cow shit, let's face it
| |
I thought they made their own label so they didn't have any restrictions?
This is weird.
| |
^Joint venture?
| |
new tdep in 2013 yeeeee buddy
| |
Ewwwwwwwww Sumerian Records.
Dillinger Faceless Cynic Plan amirite?
I personally thought they should have stuck it out with Season of Mist. They had something going for once in their career.
| |
I think managing their own label/"creative banner as Weinman said" is kinda difficult. Weinman's obviously the life of the band tbh.
| |
Honestly don't really like Dillinger. Sunmerian has SFTP though
| |
I have a bad feeling about this
| |
Dillinger should be on Hydra Head, they're the most oh wait
| |
Label > Band, no kidding
| |
Don't you people have families?
| |
Surrounding themselves with posers? They must be up to something...
| |
Sumerian has Veil of Maya, After the Burial and The HAARP Machine. They're not bad at all.
Even if you don't like it, you can always reassure yourself with 'at least it's not Victory'.
| |
Probably signed them to increase their legitimate music cred
| |
Which they've never really had lol
| |
Went on a date and i fucked her face.
| |
"Hopefully the label doesn't force any changes on them (i.e Rise Records)"
Wont happen unless they themselves choose to make changes, or else they wouldn't have signed with Sumerian. The whole reason they did the whole Seasons of Mist/Party Smasher Inc thing was to have control over the music.
Chances are it was for distribution/touring/etc, etc but Im not totally familiar with how different labels do things.
| |
this is pretty weird but you fuckers are overreacting. maybe you dont like the bands on the label but the label itself gives full creative control to its bands and is apparently really cool to them so dillinger will be just fine
| |
love this band, can't wait for new album
| |
They probably won't go "djent."
Look at T.R.A.M. they're not 'djent" at all and they're signed to Sumerian Records.
| |
43% Djent
| |
^ snap.
| |
Dillinger would be the last band to bend to the whims of a label, so even though them being on Sumerian seems a bit weird, I'm not worried at all about it affecting the quality of the music.
| |
see, i like Dillinger...why would they sign with such a shitty label?
| |
