C'mon brosephski, listen to the title track of that album and tell me it doesn't have incredibly monotonous songwriting.

I just listened to the record in my car on the way to work this morning actually, and I can't say I find it to be particularly monotonous. Particularly in comparison to other things to which the term monotonous would better apply. I'm just used to people complaining about the vocals on the album, and I find that silly.

Morgan recorded the vox for the album, but they're now in the process of looking for a permanent vocalist.

Oh totally, because technical and good is also the same thing.

I can't really listen to Misanthropy Pure thanks to That Within Blood Ill-Tempered.

It has its moments, but the vocals bring it down, and during the slower (monotonous) parts the vocals weigh it down like an anchor.

I do agree with the sentiment suggesting That Within Blood Ill-Tempered is a better record. Because it is.

Ive only listened to Misanthropy like twice and I liked it, but they seem really pretentious. Is it worth trying to get into them?

Misanthropy Pure is a fantastic album in all; the video for the song itself within the album is brutal, on a side note.
