Yngwie Malmsteen album details

2012-11-12 by FictionalFlames | 47 Comments
Get ready to be Spellbound, because neo-classical shred master Yngwie Malmsteen will return with a new album on December 5, 2012. Spellbound is also a new stepping stone for Mr. Malmsteen, mainly due to the fact there will be "turbo charges bluesy stuff to boot" and he'll be taking on lead vocals this time as well throughout the entire album.

Track list:
1. Spellbound
2. High Compression Figure
3. Let’s Sleeping Dog Lie
4. Repent
5. Majestic 12 Suite 1,2&3
6. Electric Duet
7. Nasca Lines
8. Poisoned Mind
9. God Of War
10. Iron Blues
11. Turbo Amadeus
12. From A Thousand Cutsツ
13. Requiem For The Lost

Where there's Yngwie, there's usually gonna be guitar solos.

Wow that album cover is retarded. I'm a big fan of old Yngwie, but I guarantee this will suck, just like the last 8 or so albums he's done.

Save for 1-2 albums, this guy's work is a waste of talent and potential in guitar wankery.

Yngwie doesn't even try to put out quality music now; he just plays some random riffs and shreds over and over and over and over again

This is one of those guys that just plays way too fast way too much. For such a great musician, a lot of his albums are a chore. And I LOVE shred music, and was huge into all the shrapnel stuff.

"He's extremely technically proficient but holy fuck his 'music' bores me to tears."

Not really. Paul Waggoner would give him a run for his money. I can list more if you need. It's just bullshit sweeps and retarded tremolos.

Well of course Yngwie isn't mind-blowingly incredible anymore (although he is still quite amazing). It's 20 years after he arrived; of course people have finally been catching up. No one could compete with him in the early '80s though.

Bwaha that art is more than what I would expect from Malmsteen...

But seriously, you can find "turbo charged bluesy stuff to boot" on EVERY SINGLE album with guitar these days.

"No one could compete with him in the early '80s though."

Well no shit, no one could compete with The Beatles in the 60's. Music progresses.

Paul Waggoner would give him a run for his money.

Eh, you really think so? I'm pretty sure whatever Waggoner can play Malmsteen can easily do, but not vice versa.

Not even close. Plus go see him in concert- he's about as exciting as siting in calculus class watching your professor do math problems.
