New Avantasia album in 2013 2012-11-12 by simonpettersen | 6 Comments | Even though he had initially believed he was done working on Avantasia, Edguy frontman Tobias Sammet has announced that there will be a new metal opera out by the spring of 2013. Sammet also relvealed that it wouldn't be "a mere journey back in time", meanig that the new material sounds very fresh and new but would still capture the classic Avantasia vibe.
Sammet also revealed that due to Eric Singers commitment to Kiss he wouldn't be able to return on the new album and will be replaced by Russell Gilbrook from Uriah Heep. The remaining singers and guest musicians who will join Sammet for this new album are still unannounced.
