New Caleb McAlpine Videos

2012-10-16 by Masochist | 23 Comments
Canadian-born, Mexican-bred English guitar string destroyer Caleb McAlpine will be featured in an upcoming musical documentary, Wonderfully Lost, filmed by
Robin Morgan of videoSweet. A preview video has been released which features McAlpine performing an instrumental improvisation dubbed "Cullercoats". During the song, McAlpine shows blatant disregard for the well-being of his fingers as he solos on an acoustic guitar for two minutes, including a 30-second tapping section.

McAlpine has also released a live video of his song "Ageing, Loving." The song was recorded "in an old chapel building on our missions campus here in England(sic)
that we converted into a venue for an evening," and performed as part of an album release concert for the band Evergreen.

Haha, thanks but please don't listen to Science Fiction. You will find none of this here.

Those aren't sweeps at 0:50? Looked like one upward hand motion to me.

oh! interesting observation! that's actually done exclusively with my thumb, as one would play a slap bass -- i barely touch the strings there actually

i like that illusion though, i've never noticed that!

Ahh, you trickster. You had me fooled there...but you've clarified, so I'll edit ;-).

Also, is "Cullercoats" the official name of your solo?
