Found an original pressing of Quadrophenia on vinyl for $15 in a second hand record store in Newtown last January. One of my most treasured vinyls now.

Also Moon and Entwistle were the best part of the Who.

yeah i have a japanese import. it was given to me by someone who just didn't care for music whatsoever. it was his dad's stuff before that. they were estranged or w/e

sounds good on vinyl but with digital you here sounds you didn't before. or at least do not on vinyl. others are more apparent, but not so different

anyway its my favorite album. the who? not the same without entwistle. it worked without Moon. and worked even better once jones was gone. and the "big band who" they use for some performances of Tommy and Quad work really well imo

but without entwistle? nope, does not work. and pino paladino is most def a background bass player. losing entwitle was akin to zep losing page, or Van Halen without Eddie. if not quite that extreme, musically it is. entwistle played side by side with pete, around pete, and over pete. pino plays behind pete. BIG difference. huge

as a four or five peice band imo they are finished and have been as the who for awhile. i think pete has said as much. and roger. they are now a celebration of the who. the who in name only. i suppose at least they are honest about it. and they are UP there in age now. at least roger got his voice back. sounded awful few years ago. he was ill. now he sounds good again

can't get me started with the who. myself and user Lunch and jeff once ruled a big who thread in r&m in the forums. good times =]

oh its going to happen to one of these geezer bands. stones seem to injure themselves off tour but as they fall they fall

my bet is on springsteen. his body is wrecked from all the physical shows over the years. he can barely make it up some stairs these days. think he has some muscle and joint trouble, too. his hands and wrists are always wrapped. and he wore his first guitar out. literally. it would need to be "rebuilt" to do much more to it without it going to pieces. its fragile. so he retired it but brings it out for a couple songs sometimes. anyway he limps around stage a lot and doesn't run around much. he skips around, and dances a bit. but he seems unsteady sometimes :p

I love The Who but they should realize both Keith and John are dead.

I didn't have an issue with the older "fun" format, just the amount of articles that used it. If it's used every once in awhile it's effective, but seeing that same type of article 2-3 times a day kills the humor associated with it.

no Vancouver, damn. Quadrophenia is probably the only Who album I'd want to see performed in its entirety. I hope they add Vancouver, t'would be a good Christmas present for my dad.
