it wouldn't hurt to relisten to The Wake and compare. but no doubt that the whole album will end up being better.

He has more layers because he has a backing band. Scott Kelly and the Road Home. Given that the reason I preferred Von Till's output to The Wake was because Grim Horse sounded "fuller," I'm predicting that this album will be my favorite of Kelly's solo releases.

I was actually impressed. I am a huge Neurosis fan but Scott Kelly's solo output never used to impress me much. I am delightfully surprised.
