The Police reunion?

2007-01-03 by Alex101 | 10 Comments
Though no official word from the band has come, a recent story from The Mirror is reporting that the Police may reunite this year for a tour to mark their 30th Anniversary.

This would be the first Police tour since the band broke up in Melbourne, Australia in 1984. The band consists of pop-sensation Sting on bass and vocals, Andy Summers on guitar and Stewart Copeland on drums.

The article goes on to state that "an official announcement is expected later this month after UK dates are locked in, possibly for May and June."

For now, there is no talk of a full-length album featuring all-new material — which would be their first since 1983's Synchronicity — they are just going on tour.

If it does happen, that would be great. Sting's solo career hasn't produced anything listenable, so this would be a welcome change.

their drummer may have been incredibly talented, but he is the single biggest arsehole around. not only has he lowered himself to being a "celebrity judge" on a shitty tv show here in the UK, but on that very show, he's so full of himself and treats everyone like shit. and facially, he reminds me of the headmistress woman in "school of rock" which i guess is kinda funny. but still, he's an arsehole.

it would be wonderful if this happened, both the tour and a new cd

Wow, that would rock! I bet the tour is going to be expensive as hell, though...reunion tours always are.

Steerpike: not true! "10 Summoner's Tales" is a classic. Well, mostly because of Vinnie Colaiuta, but the songwriting is ace.
