This is really mediocre.
| |
That was awful.
SOAD creates their songs around making the instrumentation precisely matching the quirky vocals and this version doesn't come close to doing that.
| |
System are just too distinctive and eccentric for anyone to cover properly
| |
Ouch
| |
Well, that was really, really, really average.
| |
sounds good to me
| |
Way to turn this into generic deathcore. I expect no less from Born of Osiris, though.
| |
Funny that they made a lyric video to a song they didn't write.
Fake and gay.
| |
fags
| |
lol
| |
what the fuck
| |
The instrumentation pleasantly surprised me. The vocals however are awful and ruin the song. If Serj
were dead, he would be rolling in his grave.
| |
Everything these guys do is mediocre
| |
Some people are thinking that this is an original song LOL. Still I thought the cover was decent.
| |
2.5/5, max. 3/5
| |
Music was fine. Vocals are what was miserable.
| |
Didn't even listen to the whole thing. Come on, guys, you can do better.
| |
Yea, not good. Why they made a fucking lyric video for this is beyond me
| |
Those were the longest 2 1/2 minutes of my life. So boring
| |
good
| |
fucking retarded
| |
What a soulless, half-assed, by the books, hollow shell of a cover. This isn't even a cover, they
aren't making it their own, it's just like a play-through of the song itself but with screaming. And I
think it's a shit excuse if adding cookie monster growls with no variety to their cover is "making the
song their own" in their eyes, because that just shows how mostly every band in this genre has no god
damn identity outside of the same old loud noise they all make. Taking a band that is so unique, and
being this fucking dense on a cover of their material is just a disgrace. I liked these guys on their
album "A Higher Place", but they have gotten so damn hopelessly generic.
| |
I kept expecting clean vocals during those interludes like the proper version had.
| |
don't do keyboard effects for guitar parts nooooooo
| |
Horrible.
| |
gay
| |
Isn't this band suffering from drug abuse problems and constant near-breakups?
| |
my god this is bad.
| |
Just made me want to listen to Toxicity.
| |
the bridge was almost cool
| |
had to listen out of morbid curiosity. regret it
| |
Just made me want to listen to Toxicity.
Haha yeah.
| |
Why pick such a shitty band to cover?
| |
lol
| |
This is in my top 5 worst things I've ever heard
I had to listen to some blood on the dance floor to clean out my ears
| |
Not sure if boo is trolling or bad
| |
seriously these fucking lyric videos need to stop.
| |
yeah, they are one of the worst trends in music right now imo. and most of the bands that release them
have awful lyrics
| |
Yeah they are pretty stupid, just put the lyrics in the description
| |
The first one I remember seeing was for Simple Math
| |
They're not deathcore and wow;
couldn't they cover something else? It was lame
| |
how are they not deathcore
| |
They used to be deathcore back in The New Reign. Not in The Discovery.
| |
So what the fuck are they now, free form jazz?
| |
They used to be deathcore back in The New Reign. Not in The Discovery.
They're still deathcore. Don't be a moron like most Boo fans who say "no man their prog metal now".
| |
i didn't like this at all
| |
Just posted they are deathcore on the vid.
inb4 flame war
| |
I like System of a Down and Born of Osiris enough, but from a purely musical standpoint that was bad.
Like looking at yourself in the mirror bad.
Winrar: I enjoy fanning the flames of genre wars on YouTube. I don't do much trolling, but when I
do...
| |
Breakdowns in an SOAD cover? How lazy can you get? Terrible.
| |
The Amon Amarth cover was a lot better
| |
Now we can 2step with our bros to system.
| |
probably the only deathcore band i can tolerate but this is just awful
| |
Bad
| |
Yeah, why waste time covering this song which only comes out to be just meh? Hope this is not an indication of what to expect from the new release.
| |
soad rule fu
| |
Listen to Deer Dance and tell me they suck
| |
neck listen to war
| |
lol yea i bet you havent even heard honey
stick to byob poser
| |
ask andcas
| |
=/
| |
Pretty bad but then both born of osiris and system of a down are pretty meh!
| |
That was bad, and I enjoyed their LP's.
| |
Oh look a generic band covering a SOAD song to try and sound less boring...... Yawn
| |
ehh wasnt the worst thing ever. listened for a couple minutes...got nothing out of it, turned it off. posted this comment. on with my day.
| |
sweet day
| |
GOOD COVER GUYS
| |
I actually like Born of Osiris, but this is a weak cover. Just had to alter the riffs, and the vocals aren't even as expressive as an average Born of Osiris song. It's all too bland and stiff and monotone, from the music to the voice. Sigh. I had hoped for the best, but I didn't get it.
| |
"I can't think of any band who could properly cover soad."
I was thinking about that while listening to this and thought maybe PTH could do it? Idk, I couldn't
think of anyone else. This is however one of the worse covers I've ever heard.
| |
Yeah I could possibly see that.
| |
I was so disappointed when I listened to this. Thank god it's a cover, so there's still hope for some good original material!
| |
gay.
| |
I mean it's not bad, but that is the worst average I have ever heard. Everything sounds boring, everything is boring.
| |
Sikth. Sikth would be fun covering System of a Down.
| |
I totally forgot about this song and never really thought about it when it came out. Are the lyrics supposed to be some kind of commentary or are they actually ignorant?
| |
I doubt it, did you listen to their cover EP? Not cool...
| |
best thing this band has ever done
| |
I dig BOO, but this was terrible.
| |
Terrible...Really Terrible....
A unique and weird song made bland and lifeless...
| |
i love how BOO's last album is averaging a 3.9 out of 5 and were being praised for how technical they are, and yet people here a cover and are saying BOO is bad and gay... Fucking sheep.
| |
I happen to think all their stuff is pretty mediocre. I gave The New Reign a 3 but everything else is kinda lame. This cover happens to be extra bad.
| |
mediocre at best instrumentally. way too monotone vocally, this guy has no range or style. and i get the point of covers trying to sound different, but this barely resembles science musically. the signature riff in the chorus isn't even there. on its own, if they somehow wrote this, i would say it fails hard at keeping my attention
| |
What does this cover have to do with their last album? Many great bands fail at covering songs, it says nothing about their actual potential.
| |
THA could probably do a boss cover of SOAD. :P
| |
They made the main riff into a shitty breakdown. Vocals suck too.
| |
considering this was like the first slighty 'experimental' song I heard as a kid, I'm not going to ruin it by listening to this cover.
| |
The vocals was bad, I'd have done this cover slightly differently if I were them too. They just got lazy. And don't be hating on the trend of lyric videos, I actually like the trend, as they help people decipher the lyrics when they're growled. Would be kinda cool to have a lyric video running projected onto the background when your band plays in a school or something
| |
why? just why?
| |
what is up with all these bumping of prehistoric (at least for me) articles?
| |
i didnt need to know this exists. and now that i do im sad
| |
i just found it, sorry guise. hadn't known it existed either
| |
I didn't even know this was old until I saw my comment before.
| |
