New free Volor Flex album

2012-05-26 by TMobotron | 10 Comments
Russian artist Volor Flex, whose debut album Tramp couldn't escape the obvious Burial comparisons, has returned with his follow-up album less than 6 months later.

According to the label, "Alexandr is discreetly taking some distance from the somewhat controversial sound of "Tramp" in a follow up that will hopefully shape up his place in the 'church of Burialism' as more than just a tribute while keeping the eerie and emotive sound true to his main influence."

The sophomore album My Story is available for free streaming and downloadable with a name your own price (no minimum):

Well I mean if he hadn't made a career out of essentially just recreating 'Fostercare'

Good thing Fostercare rules then! No but I agree - except although I really didn't like how much Tramp sounded like an amateur rip-off, I think this album sounds a bit more genuine and original (but of course, still not very).

Definitely a lot more to take away from this album than his first, at least in my opinion.

LOL I obtained My Story just a few days ago thinking I got some rare, elite dubstep and now I see it posted here on Sputnik...

Yeah definitely. Like it irks me when every "atmospheric" dubstep artist becomes, almost by default, compared to Burial. But then there's the obvious ripoff artists like VF (who is still pretty good). Idiot Savant is another that comes to mind

Thought this might be crap due to it being free, but it seems to be a winner.
