...Ok then. good to know they're not in it for the money, but i'm excited to hear a re-release of "Relationship" I hope it has some
unreleased Bonus tracks or something.
Thanks for uploading this.

If the re-release means that it's re-recorded, and lays down the groundwork for new material, I'm fucking down for this so hard.

@ILJAJLM
Not to play the bearer of bad news, but I've read/seen multiple interviews were Omar and Cedric have constantly confirmed that they are not making any new material.

....BUT, 5 years ago Omar and Cedric also said that they would never do a reunion, so really, you never know.

“The most exciting part to me is that there’s not a firm ending to this band,” Ward says. “This isn’t the sort of thing where we’re taking advantage of the reunion status and going and doing as many festivals as we can. We’re doing this very slowly and we literally don’t know what’s going to happen.”

They always bitched about the production of Relationship of Command maybe this time they'll release the raw version that At The Drive In love so much!

No, I guess they were bitching about the mixing, they said the production was alright (according to
Wiki anyway). A rawer version will be amazing I guess.

Edit: Wait. What if they make Relationship of Command latin prog-influenced? Omar's one crazy dude
anyway.

We all know if they were to record a new album it'd probably suck...the re release could be cool though if they put out the rawer version.

Yeah a new album would probably be disappointing, though I wouldn't be totally against them giving it a shot. But these guys are about something completely different today than the raw energy that existed within ATDI's best stuff.

"But these guys are about something completely different today than the raw energy that existed within ATDI's best stuff."

That's completely why I think recording a new album would be bad. It's obvious the song writing ability is there, but I feel like it would feel so dead in comparison with their older stuff taken how they've evolved as musicians.

nothing screams not about the money like a re-release.

you don't have to reunite to re-release an album

hopefully it'll also be remastered

Tickets for these shows have been 20 bucks and they've been playing at smallish venues, so I don't think they're just doing it for money

What's up with the production on RoC? I've never really noticed it to be bad to be honest

the producers made it really polished and it lost a lot of its bite. even ATDI admit it

it isn't bad they just want more money

And yet everyone thinks it's the second coming of christ. Imagine how it would be received if it sounded how they wanted it to. Bloody hell!

As "fake" and squashed as that album sounds, I think that style of production helped convey that energy they had better than on In/Casino/Out etc.

But I'd listen to a remixed/remastered version with an open mind. I just really love that album.

in some ways I agree. you could really feel the music trying to break free and explode, and the way the production held that back made it more noticeable

but a remaster would be interesting

in guitar world, omar definitely said he'd be lying if it didn't have a little bit to do with money. i think that it definitely wasn't all because of money. but i mean, it probably had a little to do wotih it.

If they tour and tickets are $60 (depending on the lineup) then we will know whether it is for the money or not.

Living up to Relationship of Command just wouldn't happen in this musical climate. The guys have new projects that have changed how they approach their songwriting, so any new material will sound completely different than what they've established in their catalog. Still, just seeing them reunited and performing again is a sight to behold; they still can put on a damn good show.

"who cares? It's not like they're ever going to record new material."
It might behoove the mighty norn to share his views on the fates of us mere mortals with us or just to tell his inner pretentious douchebag to stop making baseless forecasts.
