New William Control LP

2012-04-02 by jslavos | 19 Comments
The American electronic band and the side project of Aiden's William Francis - William Control, has released their third full length album, titled 'Silentium Amoris'. It features 12 new songs and a cover of Joy Division's 'Atmosphere'. Fans donated funds through the "Control Project" in order to make this self release possible.

In Control's own words: "Silentium Amoris melds together dark, cinematic themes with experimental synth pop sounds. While alarmingly melancholic and moody, it also evokes an unrelenting fury. Maintaining aggressive elements of the industrial dance sound, the LP infuses a new wave sensibility reminiscent of New Order, Bauhaus, Gary Numan, and Depeche Mode."

The album can be purchased on itunes: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/silentium-amoris/id507457880?ign-mpt=uo%3D2

The band will be taking part in the 'Fight to Unite' US tour starting later this month.

C'mon, it's not THAT bad.
And William is a decent guy, living off food stamps and releasing this stuff so he could take care of his family and keep the light on in his house.

I sent him 5 bucks for the digital download, which is practically nothing for a LP - and it's a pretty good feeling knowing that it all went directly to him, not some record company that would keep all of the money.

And it seems to be working for him, he raised over 20 000 USD, and donated a part of that sum to the treatment center that made him sober + off drugs.

Just sayin'

99 out of 100 times I would get a instant boner after reading this. However, this is one of those special exceptions.

Let me get this straight - he's declining to take a real goddamn job, instead making obscure, pretentious albums that sell peanuts.

this is the best way to feed your family nowadays?
