Dragonforce debuts a second new song from their fifth album in mid-April, "The Power Within." This song, titled "Cry Thunder," is an exceptionally varied song in the band's library; containing the usual shredding solos, but with a much lower tempo compared to the rest of the band's material.

This band needs to stop already...

Why does Herman Li always have that "I'm so metal" look on his face?

It's amazing how a new singer can make a mediocre band listenable.

both tracks are hits. Should be a joyous record.

Really, people like the new singer that much?

I'll admit the old singer made the band sound very cheesy, but with a name like Dragonforce and lyrics like these... you expect some cheese. Getting rid of the cheese doesn't make it less cheesy at this point, just more boring. It's the same thing they've been doing.

I hate that band with a passion, but this song isn't bad.

I liked this song. They just sound like a normal gimmicky power metal band now, and not fucking Dragonforce.

Yes though, Valley of the Damned is awesome. Sonic Firestorm is mostly solid as well.

I don't know how to respond to this. Did I indicate somewhere that I don't know what power metal is?

I actually kind of like Dragonforce in smaller doses, I just find it strange that this new vocalist is considered better. He's doing the same thing that Theart did (is CRY THUNDAAAH, really better than STAR CHASE-AAAH?)... it's just more monotone.

Anytime epic is the best word to describe music, you know it's music not worth listening to. Dragonforce is fast and flashy, but
they have no real artistic talent. Explains why they have been rehashing the same thing for 4 previous albums. It also explains
why they suck live: they can't even play their instruments that well. This band is a true disgrace to the word metal and should
probably quit before they potentially warp an entire generations view on the genre. 2/5

Catchy, but nothing special. Blind Guardian still do it better, but at this point I'm feeling pretty certain that this record won't be a trainwreck.
