Laibach and Iron Sky 2012-03-17 by MarvinLapsus | 12 Comments | Laibach, Slovenian martial industrial pioneers, were one of the sources of inspiration for Finnish director Timo Vuorensola when designing the underlying concepts for his film, "Iron Sky".
Iron Sky is a dark comedy whose plot revolves around nazis who fled to the moon in the final days of WWII returning to Earth in order to establish their new empire. Iron Sky will be theatrically released on April's 4th. The director asked Laibach for cooperation, and the band acceded to take part in the moviemaking process.
As we've seen in the teasers released so far (http://youtu.be/kNDaOFQ6g2I), Laibach music will play an important role creating a fitting atmosphere for the film. It's unknown if the old Laibach tracks used on the trailers will be released on the final soundtrack or if this will be made of unreleased pieces in its entirety.
To promote the film and its soundtrack, Laibach will tour Europe on April. dates can be checked here: http://www.laibach.org/future-events

@ MarvinLapsus
Saw this at a site yesterday and was going to write a news item about it, but you did a hell of a job at it, major kudos.

| | | I'm totally going to be that guy who says this is old, if still welcome, news.
The film's going to kick ass.
| | | I hope so. Something with space nazis and Laibach on it can hardly fail.
| | | Oh the film will be grand regardless; the pre-screenings have all done really well and even Germany (surprisingly) loved it.
| | | Good news. Some friends of mine were sceptical after last teaser was released, because they hoped the film to be more focused around the Moon's Reich.
| | | There was an Ask Me Anything with the films producer on reddit some months ago, it was a fun read.
| | | Interesting.
| | | Of course. One thing I really liked were the Laibach "Volk" V symbols featured in many of the film's promotional posters.
