Sounds like If You Only Knew's little sister
Not bad, but not amazing either
Vid was cool

I was a huge fan of Shinedown's previous albums, but both this song and "Bully" have disappointed me.
I'm hoping the rest of the album doesn't disappoint me as well.
|
| |
Love this
|
| |
they only have 3 albums you dont have to say it
|
| |
bully was terrible
they should go back to writing stuff like 45 again that song rules way hard
|
| |
"'Unity' is a song about uniting the world as one," Shinedown vocalist Brent Smith tells Noisecreep. "It's about loving your brothers and sisters. We're all in this together and we should be building each other up instead of tearing each other down!"
WHEN WE STAND TOGETHER
|
| |
Meh, exactly what I expected at this point, at least it's marginally better than Bully
|
| |
the best songs from Shinedown are usually NOT singles
|
| |
i hate the sound of madness, this redneck guy i work with always blasts it and pretends they wrote it just for him
|
| |
@TheAMR66
My favorite Shinedown song is Lady So Divine. I hope there's a song at least half as good as that one on their new album.
|
| |
Hope they come through here again, it's not a terribly amazing show but it's always packed and their albums are all solid.
|
| |
question
what makes this band any better than their contemporaries?
|
| |
"mainstream rockers"
that screams oxymoron.
|
| |
Brent Smith.
|
| |
@Observer - Off the top of my head? Consistency, without falling into the trend of sounding like the majority of their contemporaries.
|
| |
good track but this album is going to disappoint
i can just feel it
|
| |
@Observer
Their lead singer has one hell of a set of pipes on him, plus the band's songwriting ability is normally a step above others in the genre, along with their matured (mostly) lyrics.
|
| |
I hate it when bands adopt these lyrical ideas
|
| |
Acanthus, i guess the vocals always put me off like some of the others
but hey i like linkin park so go figure.
|
| |
songwriting is middle of the road, but Brent's voice beats the hell out of anyone from Seether, Breaking Benjamin, Nickelback, etc
|
| |
@SowingSeason
True, though I've always found Shinedown's songwriting a bit more varied/matured than their peers.
And I agree. about Brent's voice. As far as mainstream rock/alternative metal/post grunge vocalists
go, I've always thought Brent Smith and Myles Kennedy to be miles (pun intended) ahead of others in
the genre.

| |
^This guy gets it
|
| |
Yurp. The only way to improve mainstream rock is to improve the pieces in the puzzle.
