blink-182? Reuniting? NO WAY!

2006-12-03 by Alex101 | 39 Comments
On November 29th, 2006, in the KROQ Christmas issue, frontman Tom DeLonge has discussed the possiblity of a blink-182 reunion to make their very last album, entitled "One For The Kids", then after the release the band will be officially over, thus ending the long-awaited hiatus that had started on February 17th, 2005 to May 2007.

Although very little information has been leaked so far, some fans are wondering how the bandmates are going to record the album, especially after the tension Mark and Tom have created from Tom's mysterious and 'unforgivable' leave. It is possible that the bandmates may put aside their issues and record the album together. Or, some specualte, the members will record a demo, leaving the studio for the other members of the band to continue/add more material to the track.

Yeah, there's no point in them getting back together. AvA and +44 are very successful bands, so they should just keep doing them.

Plus Tom is an idiot, Mark and Travis were the cool guys in the band anyways.

I think I do agree with you all that a blink-182 reunion might sound sick (or not). Mark and Travis are involved with +44 because they just had an album and Tom is still in AvA. But I do think a blink-182 reunion might sound great. As far as I know, I've never heard anything about the band reuniting, I just found out about this at Punkbands.com before posting it here.

I think that their self titled was a good way to end off, but whatever, we'll see what happens. This Message Edited On 12.03.06

They should do this so that they can make the album an epic ending to their career. And they should go on tour and have one last final epic show. It would kick ass.

Oh lordy. I really hope this doesn't happen. Blink were cool when I was like, 9, and now I look back and there not very good at all. But I must say, +44 puts on a stellar live show.

I bet Tom didn't even asked Mark is he wanted to make another album, but just assumed he'd be overjoyed to work with him again.

Ill bet someone waved a big wad of cash in their faces..

Tom and Mark will have sat down and thought.. "If this much money is at stake, we can get along for a bit.. produce some half arsed album and walk away with the money"

Kind of like their last album?

I really hope Tom's head explodes due to his huge ego, and this doesn't happen.

I doubt this will happen. And if it does, I'm not even sure if I want to hear it. I don't trust any music made by Tom anymore and I want them to be remembered by the self-titled. That was a great album and no doubt better than this supposed release would be. I feel it would be way to forced for Mark and Travis to make any music with him nowadays.
But I don't think Mark and Travis even know about this yet so I don't think we have to worry.

In the members' current state, I can't imagine they would be able to put out a really good album, let alone an album at all. They should give it some more time.

i was really sad when i heard blink 182 broke up and thought to myself, surely they'll get back together eventually. but i really don't think they should now, after recent developments. they had a great ending album to close out Blink 182's career, and that's the way it should stay. This Message Edited On 12.04.06

I really dont care what they do. If it happens, I will listen to it with low expectations. Nothing they have ever done or will do will be as good as Dude Ranch, in my opinion, there best work. After that, average.

I admit, Tom was an asshole, but think about this for a second. They are much older and little more mature. Granted I don't really care for the album, but a good bye tour is something I would definently look forward to seeing.
C'mon people, they were one of the most popular bands ever during the 90's and early 00's

You would think I would be overjoyed, I have worshipped these guys for years and Tom led me to learn guitar but his massive ego and arrogant attitude makes me wish he had never said this in the first place. The day Tom realises his AvA pajamas arent selling will be the day when these guys get back together. The break up tore apart Mark (just listen to "no, it isn't" by plus 44) and Tom couldnt have cared less (just listen to the whole crappy AvA album). The one thing i would want is a farwell tour, i would die for that. And unless i am mistaken- cuz i dont listen to yellowcard- but they have an album called "one for the kids" already, isnt that kinda stealing?

Dude, are you saying you see into the future!! You idiot how can you even comprehend what this will sound like!! After time apart of course it's going to be different from past releases both +44 and AvA have reinvented their out looks on music and slip away from blink's pop punk genre which it owned for so long. You have just earned a place in my burn book. go back to listening to Linkin Park asshole!!

Fuck yes it should happen!!!!. Tom should shut the hell up, Mark should pull his head out of his arse...and they should say sorry to each other and make up.

I almost threw my TV out of the window after watching Uretha Chronicals 1, because they were such good friends, and one little thing lead to the whole band breaking up. It made me so sad and upset the day the 'Blink broke up. Fuck this is the only thing that can be good in the world. I grew up with the 'Blink since I was 9. Mabye Travis should fix his damn arm, or bloody get Scott back in the band. He wasnt half bad!!!! Yeah go get Scott back in. Where is he hiding?

Blink 182 was my absolute favorite band, I hope they make this CD but it better not be half *****. They were a very influential band in punk history and I think it died with them too. Nothing says punk music more to me then blink. I wish I would have got to see them live.

I'd be happy if they reunited but i think the last album would sound different since there personalities have all changed, and i dont know if this is true or not because on all of marks interviews he seems pretty pissed at tom and if i were him i wouldn't want to spend a year recording and a year touring with someone i hate, also like i said before it just wouldn't sound the same.

i love blink as much as anyone else, i wanted them to make another album a few months after they broke up, but after i heard Angels And Airwaves first album, i didnt want too, just think of how it would sound!, i mean there wouldnt be any songs like First Date, All The Small Things, Dammit, or any of the good ones. It would be all like AVAs first album. I think they ended it perfectly with their self-titled album, and they should leave it at that, they've all matured too much to reunite for a final CD, they wouldnt even record in the same studio, and the CD would be half-assed because they would just want the money.

Now, if they put effort into it and do a tour with it, i'd be all for it, i just dont see them doing it "for the kids" or "for the fans" i see them doing it "for the money"

Stop dissing Tom, I aspire to him so much.
I want a reunion tour with Blink, AVA and +44!
That would be the shit.

And yeah, leave it on a good note with that last album.
It was a pure classic.

ATTENTION: their last album WAS half assed if you didnt know. they spent almost a year in the studio. they were under alot of stress and had barely anything done at the last minute. adding to the stress, travis had to do a transplants tour! so if you think the self titled album was half assed, think again about this one, im sure theyll do great. i met tom this past summer hes such a great guy, his ego thing was from the drug addictions, and it wasnt that bad of an ego. just because youre taking pride in something youve waited for your whole life isnt a problem.
