Why does glam metal still exist?

The dumbest shit ever still exists in Canada.
|

Am I the only one who opens these news pages cause I have no idea who the abbreviated band is?

"Why does glam metal still exist?"
it exists for Hans
|
| |
spec, i do that too. gets way 2confusing

At least they have fun with their fans and themselves. And they can riff pretty hard when they want to.

It should be internationally illegal to abbreviate band names in news items, especially with bands that most have likely never heard of or ever care about.

"Am I the only one who opens these news pages cause I have no idea who the abbreviated band is?"
no i do that. they are always 'B___' too
|
| |
you wouldn't be able to fit the headline within the character limit if you wrote it out in full
|
| |
nah it's an international conspiracy
|
| |
Bands need shorter names for Sputnik's sake

"you wouldn't be able to fit the headline within the character limit if you wrote it out in full"
Of course you couldn't fit that particular headline, but the goal is to be clever and condense the news to what's essential. It may not always be possible, but when it is possible I need to know the band name and what happened at a basic level.
I'm not sure what the exact limit is but I assume it is 30. I would rather see "New Blessed By a Broken Heart", for example, because I then know the band name and that there is something to do with new material. At least then if I am interested in that band, then I will check it out and learn that it is a free stream of their new album.
Not a huge deal, but even when the character limit isn't an issue people tend to abbreviate band names as if everyone knows who they are. The band name is the most important part of the news so it should be included if at all possible. Even if the title summarizes everything very well, people who care about the band will check the full news article anyway.

stop moaning.
New Blessed By a Broken Heart could mean anything. It isn't my fault the character limit is not long enough.
|
| |
Not moaning, just expressing what a lot of folks are thinking. I'm not bashing you as the poster either. I apologize for being aggressive on the matter.
"New Blessed By a Broken Heart" means that specific band has something new available, whereas "BBABH new album stream" means that some band has a new album stream. The former at least allows both the fan and the layman to know if they are interested or not, which is what the headline is for. The article itself is what gives the full details once someone has decided it interests them.

This site should really try and expand the character limit, it really is a pain on certain occasions. Sometimes the perfect title is too long and there's virtually no way possible to shorten it whilst keeping the essential information needed.

I concur
