More Burial EP details

2011-12-21 by Deviant. STAFF | 22 Comments
Nearly two weeks after Kode9's almost casual tweet regarding the existence of a new EP, random links to foreign distributors and DVA pulling out just over 2 minutes of new material, Hyperdub have officially announced details regarding Burial's new EP, Kindred.

The 3-track EP has now been confirmed to be released in January, ahead of the February release date previously mentioned. The tracklist is as follows:

1. Kindred
2. Loner
3. Ashtray Wasp

You can catch the sample of 'Ashtray Wasp' along with tracks off forthcoming records from DVA and Cooly G off of DVA's Rinse podcast, which can be legally downloaded at the link below.

In related news, DVA is set to release his debut LP, Pretty Ugly through Hyperdub as well, on March 19th 2012. You can check out the first single off the album, 'Madness', below.

I hate EPs. It would be great if this is just a precursor to a new LP.

He's realized that in this scene making LP's doesn't pay. Putting out three track tasty morsels of consistent high quality ala Hessle, Hotflush et al is the way to be going about things.

I don't think burial's music works that well when on an EP,

his work needs to be on a full length to be fully realized
