Pearl Jam To Headline For X 2011-10-31 by JohnXDoesn't | 18 Comments | Eddie Vedder has great taste in music, no doubt about it. It was almost 20 years ago Eddie and company chose one of the greatest live Rock 'n Roll bands ever to grace a stage to headline for on a U.S. tour, and now almost two decades later it would seem good taste in music never dies.
Beginning November 4th in the great city of San Paulo, Brazil and ending three weeks later in Mexico City, Mexico, X will take stage first in this "battle of the bands" that will surely give our headliners a run for their money! Fresh on the heels of X's 30th Anniversary Tour marking the release of their classic debut album Los Angeles, the band is sure to be in top flight condition. Bringing classic songs with them such as White Girl, The Once Over Twice, and Motel Room In My Bed would be good enough. But if fans in South America are lucky, X may even play the entire Los Angeles album from start to finish in it's entirety just as they are doing here in the States. This reporter has been first hand witness to several of these performances and can only say...WOW!
Then Pearl Jam will take the stage. So get there early as to not miss the best part of the show. If you live south of the border, that is.
Pearl Jam, I applaud you. As does the entire world of rock for lending support to Eddie Vedder's favorite band, and rightfully so. X says Pearl Jam is making it possible to headline for them by paying X well for the gig, and on top of that is allowing the opener to use their full sound system rather then the half ass crap openers usually get. The headliners will have to be awfully good to eclipse what came before them onstage. And I wouldn't bet on it.
Pearl Jam headlines for X November 4th to November 24th in South America / Mexico. Get there early and don't say I didn't warn you!

no doubt. no doubt about being more interested in seeing X, too. their is some recent youtube stuff up from their tour, but much of it is poor sound quality, of course. still comes through if you're a fan and know what you're listening to, however. anyway X will be on tour awhile longer after they return from S.A. and if in your area you owe it to yourself to check 'em out
this is interesting. John Doe and Eddie Vedder along with Cindy Wasserman doing Golden State a couple months ago. Eddie must really like this song!
i also notice he sings with just about every artist on the planet, too. guy gets around
