New Metsatoll album + song 2011-09-20 by Metalstyles | 17 Comments | Estonian folk metallers Metsatoll will release their fifth studio album, titled Ulg (translation: The Howl), on November 1st through Spinefarm Records. As per usual for Metsatoll, the album was recorded amidst the woods of Estonia (funnily enough they do have studios there), away from the city and everyday life, so that the band could perfectly capture and carry out its primal essence.
They've also revealed their new single, "Kivine Maa", off that bad boy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dAjYbQ5_lg

Song's catchy as hell. This might just end up being that one truly excellent folk metal album I've been waiting for the whole year.
| | | Kuu hahaha. Ku Ku KaChoo
| | | No Zip, it's Küü, Küü, not Kuu ;)
| | | I don't have a U key with the dots on it or anything. How the fuck do you even pronounce that?
| | | It's unpronounceable to you haha. It's something of a cross between a u and an y, but sounds distorted as fuck.
| | | Oh. Well that's useful XD.
| | | Now You Know, with your host, Magnus Altküla (yeah, my real name has that awesome letter haha)
| | | so magnus do you manage these guys?
| | | I wish, Joey. Although, now that you mention it, I should definitely make that proposal to them.
| | | you should. in fact, why haven't you? geez.
| | | You're dead to me.
| | | If I get the job and share it with you guys will you forgive me my slow nature?
| | | nope
| | | :'(
| | | no compassion from fluttershy
| | | What did Estonia do during WW II?
| | | Well Balls, at the start of it we were under Soviet occupation (hence why many of our men, who were ordered to join the Red Army, joined German forces instead). In 1941, Germans conquered us instead and we fell under their occupation. But, we all know what happened to ze Germans in WW II, and by the end of it, we were once again under Soviet rule, because let's face it, without any proper help from the big names in Europe, there is no way we were able to hold off another occupation by the then-mighty Soviet Union, who marched in and took our freedom (again) by brute force. Sure, there were plenty of resistance movements going on while under the Soviet rule, but none of them were big enough to actually affect anything regarding our fate. Only when the Soviet Union began to crumble did we get the chance to reclaim our freedom. So there you have it, a mini-review of what went down.
