Jag Panzer call it quits

2011-09-13 by Voivod STAFF | 19 Comments
Jag Panzer, the legendary heavy metal outfit from Colorado, USA, have decided to call it quits after 30 years of copious contribution.

The decision to split the band gained critical ground, soon after the departure of guitarist Christian Laseque (who left the band so as to fully concentrate on his musical studies) and despite his replacement by the 19-year-old guitarist Jake Dreyer.

Commenting on the band's decision to split, founding member Mark Briody stated that Jag Panzer's course over the years had been a long and wonderful journey, for both the band as a collective and its individual members. However, Briody added that from a point further, it was difficult for the band to keep on existing, based on the original plan that brought Jag Panzer together in the first place.

This is two months old.

Yeah, i know, but for Sputnik this is news.

legendary huh

The band's been riding since 1981 with nine albums, out of which 7-8 are gems in their realm.

I saw them live once, when they had Chris Broderick within their ranks.

It was awesome.

Unfortunate, but not surprising since they've been rocky since Broderick (beast that he is) left to join Megadeth :/

Jag Panther were the shit. Thane to the Throne was amazing.

Respect.

I don't think I'd call them legendary per se, but well known within the heavy metal realm for sure. Too bad, I enjoyed their work.
