i gotta pick up cartographer, their first two releases were awesome

I don't really get the point of music videos anymore..

holy shit, "John Grady"...
I'm currently reading that book haha
|
| |
Ha, yeah great books.
|
| |
oh yeah that's right it's part of a trilogy... how would you say the second and third books compare? I'm almost halfway through ATPH and so far I'd just say it isn't bad, to me it sorta reads like the cowboy version of Kerouac's On The Road, which I didn't care all that much for...
|
| |
Yeah, they can be a little tedious to get through at times. I liked the second book, The Crossing, the best. Especially the first half. The second half and Cities of the Plain, while good, can get a little too philosophical and tedious.
I'd say if you just think the first isn't bad you might not enjoy the other two. But if you haven't read The Road yet, that's my favorite of his books and shoul no doubt be read.

when I find time to, yeah I'd like to be The Road. Someone actually rec'd me that right after I had finished On The Road and I basically said no thanks, not another one of these haha.
school's about to start back up soon though which means i'm probably not gonna be able to read again until winter break cause I'll be too busy, which is sort of a bummer.

the cartographer is a great EP, maybe even better than varuna (their LP). and this song is pretty good, not on the level of widow's walk or anything but certainly a standout

Yeah, I get like that with books during school too.
And I agree with Sowing. Cartographer is better than Varuna. Varuna goes on a little too long.

I prefer Varuna, because I prefer Mason's vocals and Varuna was a little more complex and memorable. both are great though

There's a bit of crossover with the video for The Oarsman (fantastic song and clip there too).
Varuna/Cartographer are apples and oranges for me. I'll be interested to see who takes the vocal lead on their next LP - both are great vocalists but the vibe is quite different on the two releases.
